His Regret

His Regret

He said and his grip on my hands loosened a bit. “I agree that it took me a long time to stop being an asshole, a godless crook. It took me a long time to realize that you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. But now that I’ve finally realized it…” He let go of my hands and slowly went down on his knees. I watched him in confusion, wondering what he was doing and then I noticed his eyes were misty. He was about to cry. “… I want you to know that I regret ever rejecting you.” He said. “I regret ever neglecting your love. I regret ever yelling at you and tormenting you.” He was already shedding tears now and seeing him this way touched me in a deep way.

No steamy season yet in this book.only in the description of the story that’s it. Very misleading. I agree it started out great but the writing and character seem to be very childish I am loosing interest really fast. Even though it’s fave stars it should be two maybe three no more so far.

His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart

His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart

I burst into tears, as I tried not to make much sound so as not to distract the driver. I couldn’t believe it would come to this point. Was he really going to pull the trigger? What I had portrayed out there was the hurt me. I couldn’t just look at him again after I gained back my memories. The look in his eyes resembles that of a man who seems to want a second chance. I could see regrets in his eyes. Maybe myself of years ago would have listened to him earlier. But now, I don’t give two fucks about anyone or anything. Not even love.

HER SECRETS, HIS LOVE

OV No one knows how but everyone has things that they regret. Some regret not treasuring what they had, but they realize too late that what they had was precious. Some regret unsaid thoughts and words when they had the opportunity to say them. Others regret not being courageous enough to take risks. Hamdan was no exception. He had a lot of regrets. He regretted being selfish, he regretted not trusting his beloved wife, he regretted driving her away yet his biggest regret was not being there for his wife. The last call she made to him was like a wakeup call to his selfish self.

Whispers of Yesterdays Love

Whispers of Yesterdays Love

The grandeur of my achievements felt inconsequential in the wake of the profound loss that engulfed me. Sleep eluded me, and when the night descended, I found myself grappling with the shadows of regret that haunted my thoughts. The love letters from Isabella, concealed artifacts of a past I had failed to confront, now lay bare the complexities of my heart. The symphony of regret played relentlessly in the recesses of my mind, each note a reminder of the choices that had led to this desolate chapter of my life.

MISTAKEN

MISTAKEN

REGRET. To feel sorry for a thing that has or has not happened. Anna had regrets from the moment she had set eyes on Amaya Rawlins at the emergency room looking so lifeless and full of hatred. She hadn’t met with her since their last therapy session that Dylan had messed up and just staring at her once again reignited the anger Anna had felt from the first time she had seen her. Anna majorly felt regretful at the fact that Amaya was here with a traumatized expression and sores all over her body while her perpetrators were living a good life because they were well connected.

Escaping From My Ruthless Husband

Escaping From My Ruthless Husband

"Are you sure? What if you regret it later?" "Regret?" The word made me laugh. Not a joyful laugh—just a hollow one. "I’ve had enough regrets. I regretted being born into that family. I regretted being born human in a world filled with werewolves. I regretted meeting Alessandro. How many more regrets can I possibly carry?"

My Ex-Husband's Regret

At least, Freya hadn't turned her back on him and that was the most important thing. However, he couldn't shake off the fact that he had already lost so much and was bound to lose more if he pushed further. His heart ached, and he felt a wave of despair wash over him as he thought of that. He poured another drink, the whiskey glugging into the glass. The sound echoed through the silence, a rhythm which matched his wandering thoughts. He leaned on the couch, his glassy eyes fixed on the whiskey bottle and empty glasses which littered the coffee table. He was lost in a sea of self-doubt and regret, the once-confident CEO now a shadow of his former self.

Regret can be such a heavy weight, but literature has this magical way of turning those feelings into something transformative. One book that absolutely wrecked me (in the best way) is 'The Midnight Library' by Matt Haig. It follows Nora, who gets to explore all the lives she could’ve lived if she’d made different choices. The way Haig blends philosophy with storytelling is breathtaking—it’s like a warm hug for anyone who’s ever wondered 'what if?' Another gem is 'Tiny Beautiful Things' by Cheryl Strayed. It’s not a novel but a collection of advice columns, and her raw, empathetic wisdom on regret feels like talking to a friend who’s been through hell and back. She doesn’t sugarcoat pain but shows how it can be a catalyst for growth.

For something more classic, 'A Tale of Two Cities' might seem like an odd pick, but Sydney Carton’s arc is one of the most poignant redemptions in literature. His final act flips regret into something almost sacred. And if you want a lighter touch, 'Anxious People' by Fredrik Backman is hilarious yet profound—its messy characters stumble through regrets but find connection anyway. What I love about these books is how they don’t just wallow; they push forward, showing regret as a stepping stone, not a tombstone. Sometimes, the best stories remind us that even our 'wrong turns' can lead to unexpected beauty.
