“It’s pretty wild. You’re in for an interesting night.” Luna grabs another copy of the book from a nearby stack and hands it to me. “Here you go. This one’s a fresh copy, we have plenty. You’ll see why in a minute.” I take the book, glancing between them. “You’ve actually got extras? What kind of book club is this?” Lilly grins mischievously. “One that takes its material seriously. We didn’t just pick this one by chance. We’ve been swapping theories about it for weeks now. Everyone’s dying to hear your take.”

I know all of Dr Ambrose's little grunts and noises. Well. Not all of them. I wish. "I went to my book club." Dr Ambrose nods. "Your naughty book club." Ha. "Yep. Shall I tell you about what we're reading?" See, he's not the only one who can toss out a challenge, but sadly he sidesteps mine. "No, I'd rather hear more about the club. Who else attends? Other students?" "Yep. It's mostly girls but there are a few guys too." "And you meet in...?"

“You’re one of those conspiracy people.” “I am,” she said proudly. “Thank you for noticing.” I poured tea into mugs and added sugar, too much, as usual. Bailey watched, horrified. “Sweet tea,” she said, sounding like she’d discovered a crime. “You’re a sweet tea person.” “Yes,” I said, defensive on principle. Bailey leaned closer, eyes gleaming. “Okay. So here’s what we do. We start a book club.” I blinked. “What?” “A book club,” she repeated, like it was obvious. “For romance. Specifically romantic fantasy. Specifically.” she lowered her voice again, conspiratorial “ the ones with wolves.”

Day seven, while we were studying, voice perfectly casual, eyes on his textbook. I write them all down. Every question Cole Ravencrest has asked me since he sat across from me in the library with coffee and a story about his sister. There are eleven questions. They span two weeks. Individually, each one is the kind of thing a new friend might ask a girl who arrived at a supernatural academy with no history and unusual power. The kind of thing someone might ask out of genuine curiosity and growing affection. Together, in sequence, on a napkin in my handwriting, they form something else entirely.

He asked "I don’t really know. You should help me out, you are really good at books stuff." I respond "Okay, how about romance?" He suggests "Romance is great but I was hoping something like a mystery novel, you know like the one I read." "Okay, I got you on that. I have a ton of recommendations on mystery books." "Yeah and speaking on mystery. I have something to ask you, Jacob." I said He glances at me and then turns back to the shelves as he continues looking "Yeah sure. You can ask me anything but never ask me about my favorite novel. I can’t deal with that question."

"...amm... Except that too." "While using my name, or my place where do you exactly do your night outs?" Cathy asked. "..." "Why does Thomas Mat's opinion on this matter worry you?" Ray asked. "..." "Answer us Kiara." "...why do you guys have so many questions? Are you my question book or something?" "We have questions because you don't answer us." Every single question was legit. Every single question was related to Noah. And every single question makes sense. She can't answer any of it. Only now she realizes how Cathy and Ray must be feeling towards her. Helpless.

“No one tells me afterward that they almost asked the right question and stopped because the room felt impolite.” Daniel looked at him. “That is not a rule.” “No. It is a warning.” Leah looked at Julian. “What is the right question?” Julian’s expression changed. For a moment, the bitterness slipped, and beneath it was only a man who had spent too many years with the dead weight of words not asked in time. “At dinner?” he said. “The right question is not where the blue room is.” Daniel’s gaze sharpened. “What is it?” Julian looked at Margaret’s invitation.

I yelled He came back, I puffed and leaned on the couch, he gave me the book 'the hate you give' " Either watch the movie or read the book." He said to me " I will read the book before about what?" " The black lives matter, the book is more interesting than the movie." He explained " Thank you, good choice." " Welcome." " how do you know I like those types?" " You are my brother, I have to know everything." He said I looked at the book. How I didn't know anything about him; I don't know his favorite color or sport or hobby or type of music. Should I ask him?
