'Noah, now you finally know what it feels like to be the one left behind,' I thought bitterly.
A short while later, the bus stopped in front of the library. I swiped my student ID and went inside.
I'd only just sat down when a shadow fell over the page, blocking the light.
Even before I looked up, I could tell from the sound of his shallow, urgent breaths who it was.
I had barely turned a page before Noah spoke, his voice tinged with wistfulness.
"Tiffany, some things never change. You still find comfort in books."
I hadn't expected him to remember that.
