It had been years, but nothing had really changed.
I pushed open the door to Lightning’s office and stepped inside. The room was just as I remembered: dark, cluttered, and filled with the scent of leather and tobacco. Lightning followed me in, closing the door behind him. He leaned against the desk, crossing his arms over his chest, and eyed me warily.
“Alright, Lily,” he said. “Start talking. What kind of trouble are you in?”
