Broken Night

Broken Night

As he walked to his computer, he read the note, hearing Janice's voice as he did so. Hey B, Thank you for everything. I have a job now (working at a bookstore, of course) and an apartment I'm sharing with a couple of other girls. It's so weird being on another coast, with a different name and a different life, but I like it here. It's so different from New York, but also the same if that makes any sense. Getting here was quite an adventure, but maybe not as big of one as what we just went through, haha.

Blood and spells

Blood and spells

I touched the roughness not minding one bit when a loud booming baritone startled me and ended my daydream. "Welcome to this book store, lovers, how may I help you?" The receptionist smiled at us before taking a huge sip from her coffee. "First of all, we are not lovers. Secondly, we need your help in locating Lindsay Decker." I walked towards her table that was situated at the back of some shelves so you wouldn't see her upon the first arrival. "That's my boss and I'm here to attend to you on her behalf. Besides, it is my first day at work and I'm trying to make a good impression." She punched the air with her mug of coffee and winked at me.

He worked in finance team. I wish I can help him more soon, I don't want him to work hard alone. Now, I'm working at a bookstore. I love it because I can enjoy while making money. My phone rang and it's Jenny. "Hey, where are you?" She asked as soon as I picked up the phone. "Come here now!" I heard Bella said. "I'll be there in a few minutes." I ended the call. I walked into my room to grab my keys, purse and my notes and pen. I walked out from the house and locked it.

COLD STEEL, BLEEDING HEARTS

COLD STEEL, BLEEDING HEARTS

But they didn’t hit bottom. They landed on a soft, glowing surface—a giant open book, appearing out of nowhere. Near the edge sat a young man in a t-shirt and jeans, a pencil behind his ear. He looked like any student. “Nice catch,” said the young man, smiling kindly. Maya helped Julian up and held the iron key, ready to fight. “Who are you? Are you an Editor?” “Me? No,” the kid laughed, standing up. “I’m the Ghostwriter. The Author hired me when she was too tired to finish your story. I’ve been keeping you alive while the Board tried to delete everything.”

Dead of Night

Dead of Night(My Forbidden Vampire)

She’s a typical bookworm and would rather deal with fictional issues than real ones, and this job is perfect for her. “I might have to take it for myself,” I only half joke. I set it down and take another book from the box. “I know I did the ordering, but it’s like Christmas morning every time we get a new shipment in.” “I know!” she agrees, and I spend another few minutes looking through the books before I go back to the front of the store. I need to talk to Kristy while Betty is distracted anyway. “Thanks for the coffee,” Kristy tells me. “And the gossip is about yourself, isn’t it?”

Badgering My Billionaire Bully

Badgering My Billionaire Bully

he waved dismissively at her, wishing the barista would hurry up and get his coffees to him and sincerely regretting ordering his PA one since it was delaying his return to the office. “Narnurs,” the woman shoved the book in his face, “the latest release from Perris Brooks. You’re Narnurs, right? You are on the cover of the book?” Realization hit him almost as soon as the dread did when he took the book from her hand and looked at the cover. His fingers clenched tight around the hard binding.

Freshwater Kisses

Freshwater Kisses

I stared at the book the nurse had given me, but I wasn't really reading the page. It was some sort of romance novel, but I wasn't looking for love. I was looking for something to keep myself from freaking out. Despite Grace's calm assertion that we would somehow make it work, I was panicking. My boss was pissed, if the two voice-mails and three texts complaining about my not being there were any indication. He was probably going to fire me. Or at least reduce my hours for being "unreliable." I wanted to scream.

THE LYCAN KING’S UNWANTED MATE

He said, he looked very serious as he said that, I didn’t dare laugh. “I won’t, I promise,” I said, he nodded calmly and got up to his feet. “We’ve got to get going, I have a meeting with the silver company, your job is to note down any necessary information on this book.” He passed me a blue notebook, I collected it. “Okay,” I muttered, I didn’t know much about this job, but I was willing to learn.

My Brother's Best Friend

My Brother's Best Friend

Until their phones draw their attention, and all I hear is the sound of nails clicking. “Those telemarketers won’t stop calling. If they’d give me a break, I might could get caught up on these books,” Dan grumbles, slamming his clipboard down before pulling out his glasses and looking down. I roll my eyes. Having more time would only give Dan more time to screw up the books. He can’t keep track of anything. “What we got?” he asks. He scans the list with squinted eyes. “Oil change,” I say. Turning, he runs his fingers through his graying hair. He’s an old guy, but the best one in the world. He gave me this job even after looking at my rap sheet. I haven’t been … picture perfect my entire life

One of my favorite stories on here!! But, I do agree with others that a few things/important situations were left with little to no detail on them & wanting more.. otherwise, truly a really good story!

The story is good and develops an interesting plot with the bullying, date rate, drugs and coping mechanisms and feeling management of the female lead and the support system found in her father’s secretary and boyfriend.
