Julietʼs Fangs

Julietʼs Fangs

The boss was a friend of my mother, so she agreed to give me work despite the young age. It was not a complicated job. I just need to attend and advise some people who sought to read, record each purchase, organize the books, make inventory and from time to time attend the social networks of the bookstore. We used to publish photos of the new books and the rebates. Easy and simple.

Wingless and Beautiful

Wingless and Beautiful

Before I went to bed, I wrote on my diary as if I was talking to the person who was meant to read it one day. Dear Hunter, Today, I got a new job at Alibri. It was perfect. I wouldn’t have to wait tables anymore. My life would not be a circus every day. I’m positive I didn’t have to see much of the kids from school and get scrutinized by them on a daily basis while trying my best not to hit them with a frying pan. I’m sure my encounter with these kids will be limited now. Hey, not many of them would be smart enough to frequent a bookshop, right?

Wow, truly beautiful story. Started out fast and kept improving. Cried a lot in the beginning (had to pause until I calmed down). Also, laughed at times. The characters were very mature and I’m glad Hunter and Alice were able to overcome the trauma in their lives. Well written. Worth reading.

100 Days With Mr Romero

100 Days With Mr Romero

She was on a job hunting mission "Good morning. " she greeted the librarian with a cheerful smile. "Morning Emma. " he replied smiling back. They were familiar with each other for Emma was used to borrowing books there. She carefully placed the book she had borrowed last week. "Done? " he asked her. "Yes. " she replied nodding . "You'll be needing a new book then. " he concluded and turned around. "Wait. " she said. "I'll be needing something else. " she quickly added. "Okay then. " he said placing his hands on the counter where she was standing. "I want to know if you'll need any hands here. " she began. "I mean it's a pretty large place and I've never seen you taking shift so I was wonderi

He Divorced Me On Our Anniversary

“You quit your job?” “No, Nana,” he groaned. “Jesus, calm down.” She leaned forward. “Don’t tell me to calm down in my own kitchen.” He rolled his eyes. “Our kitchen but anyway I told my editor I’m working remote it's still the same deadlines, same job but it wil only be here.” She crossed her arms. “And what exactly are you going to do all day? Stare at boats and drink bad coffee?” He grinned like a child who knew he was about to impress her. “I’m opening a bookstore.”

You have what I want

You have what I want

“If I could find a job that involved reading romance books we would be good to go. I just don’t like interacting with people too much to be honest with you. People make me nervous.” “You know I could get you a job doing that if you would be interested. I actually own a company that publishes books. We haven’t taken on romance books just yet, but if we had someone who would enjoy reading a whole lot of them everyday to see if they are worth publishing or not, we could add that on.” “What? You are joking right?”

THE CONTRACT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

THE CONTRACT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

Just me, sitting there like a decorative piece in his office. At some point, I got up and went to him, hoping to at least get something to do. But nope. All I got was a vague You’ll get a task soon and back to silence. Then, after all that waiting, Daniel walked in, dumped a pile of books on my desk, and left with a smile like he hadn’t just ruined my day. A note on top read: You should read all of this in two weeks. I stared at it in disbelief. I got a job just to sit here and read storybooks?

Babysitting Mr. Powers' Daughter.

Babysitting Mr. Powers' Daughter.

“And I need a job. This is good. I can go for the interview or whatever it is called.” “You want to work as a babysitter?” I shrugged and nodded at his question. “You used to work at a publishing company. Why would you want to become a babysitter?” “It is not a terrible job.” “I know it is not. But my point here is that you can choose to walk into any publishing house right now. And I am sure they would... Wait, which position did you hold?” “Assistant Chief Editor.” I am surprised that I am easily discussing something this important with a man I nearly slept with.

The CEO's Shattered Vows

The CEO's Shattered Vows

Anywhere that might hire someone willing to work nights and weekends. Three days later, a small bookstore called The Reading Nook called her back. The owner, an elderly woman named Mrs. Chen, needed someone to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus Saturdays. The pay was minimum wage, but it was something. "You love books?" Mrs. Chen asked during the interview, her English heavily accented, her eyes sharp despite her age. "More than anything," Isabella said honestly. "I used to work in a bookstore before... before I moved here." "Good. People who love books understand customers who love books. You start Tuesday."

“What is going on? What did you win?” Anna burst into laughter. “Girl… I got the job! My application was approved.” She screamed happily. “Awn, that is nice. What job?” she asked curiously. “The library, I have been accepted for the position of Sales Director in Logic Press Publishing House, I told you I will get one!” she screamed. Jennifer chuckled and then wore a sad face. “Happy for you, but now I am going to be all alone again, jobless.” She sighed.

Possessed By Death

Possessed By Death

Once Leo recovered a little from the embarrassment, he felt annoyed with the man. “Why did you even look in the first place?” he asked. He placed his iced coffee on the table with a thump and glared. The man simply laughed. “I work for a publishing company so I check out anything that looks like a book. Everyone knows that people who write in coffee shops are future bestselling authors,” he replied with a wry smile. “I will give you my business card so you will believe me.”
