[Author’s voice] The rising sun’s beams gently landed on Ophelia’s ashen face as she slept, ridiculously lost in a nightmare-less world of wonderland. Enjoying the warmth and the sleep she had never had the luxury to enjoy, her body curled as her fingers grabbed on the blankets as if they were an armour that protected her from all the world’s evil. The unknown old woman sat not far from her, browsing through a book when a police car suddenly screeched to a halt a few feet from the bridge.

Thin sunlight seeped through high clerestory windows and pooled across the keep’s audience hall, where rumors already scuttled like mice. Ophelia’s POV I strolled through the hospital hallway with the bouquet of dahlias mixed with daisies clutched in my hand. "Room thirty one," I mumbled to myself as I gazed at the room number slates which were firmly glued to the doors. Soon, I got to room thirty one. I knocked gently and waited quietly for the inhabitant to usher me in. "Is that Miss Ophelia? Please come in," Isabelle's voice came out in the form of a weak whisper and I smiled to myself before I pushed the door open, and quietly slammed it shut.

Erica’s heart pounded as she recognized the familiar, clipped cadence of Ophelia’s stride. The door creaked open, and Ophelia stepped inside, flanked by two of her men. Her eyes swept over the room, landing on Erica, Julian, and Lila. A cold smile curved her lips. “Well, well,” Ophelia said, her voice smooth as silk. “I had a feeling you’d be hiding here. Did you really think you could outsmart me?” Erica stepped forward, her gaze unwavering. “Your time is over, Ophelia. We have enough evidence to bring down your entire operation, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.”
