Why Ophelia Couldn't Leave Novels & Stories

Ophelia hadn't stepped out of her room and they were getting worried. It had been three days since Ophelia had locked herself up in her room. She had woken up and decided to hide away from the world because she couldn't come out and act as if things were normal when Finlay, who had refused to believe her, announced that he was marrying another woman and would make her his Luna.

“You don’t have a truth. You just have a grudge. You’re using me to get to him because you know he actually cares about my safety.” Without another word... Ophelia turned her back on the shadows. She didn’t take the book. She didn’t look at the grave. She walked out of the mouth of the mine... leaving the riddles and the darkness behind.

“You think you’ve freed yourself, Erica… but you’ll never escape what you are. You’ll always be tainted… by me.” Erica felt a pang of sadness, not for Ophelia, but for everything lost—the years of torment, the lives damaged, the shattered bonds that had once meant family. “I’ll spend my life proving you wrong.” Ophelia’s breaths became shallow, her eyes dimming as the final moments slipped away. The woman who had haunted them both for so long, who had wreaked so much havoc, was gone. Her eyes finally glazed over, her body still, leaving only an eerie silence behind.

The feminine voice said and I slowly brought the phone down. Why was Ophelia's phone suddenly unreachable? I exited the room and saw my mother, carrying her bag. She must be leaving for work. "Mom," she turned to me. "Can you please give Ophelia a call?" I asked her and she did not hesitate to do so. She dialed the number and put it on a loud speaker. It rang for a few minutes but she did not pick it. She is refusing my mother's call as well? PART TWO "Why is she not picking the call?" My mother asked.

I smiled, but before a single word could leave his lips again, a familiar voice shattered the moment. "Ophelia!"

she cuts him off halfway. “Whether dead or alive you don't need any of them right!?? Ophelia only knew the truth but there is nothing we can do even after finding out about it”. “But, I can contribute a lot to you and Godmother. I know you want me alive, I will leave with you now if you promise to keep them all alive”. There are innocent souls in the Sinclairs’ mansion and they knew nothing about all this. Please stop Kael! I know you are better than this. She pleaded, her eyes welling up in tears.

Ophelia couldn't live without Edward. "People would laugh at us since we are brother and sister. Dad would be furious, and he'd send you abroad." The thought of that made Ophelia sad. Edward was so good to her, and she did not want him to be driven away. "Ophelia, don't cry. Hear me out first." Edward wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. He paused for a moment, gazing at her earnestly. But Ophelia couldn't just stop crying on command. "I'm not a tap, so I can't just turn off my tears." She felt aggrieved.

The audience, on the other hand, looked quite pleased with the outcome, none of them even making a noise of protests to stop the show from becoming more entertaining. “What is the meaning of this?” Dorian was in front of Sedona in the blink of an eye. His eyes flashed red as he began to probe into her mind. Sedona didn’t look up. She focussed on the ground, on Dorian’s brown loafers. “Due to Ophelia, I had to be banished, and I had to stay away from my family.” The alpha king tried his best to not grab the woman by her hair and slam it against the nearest surface, and bash it until her skull was nothing but a mangled pulp of blood and bones. But he was so close to doing exactly that.

Even if she didn't want to see me, an idea that broke my heart, knowing that she was okay would have to be enough for me. But I couldn't even have that solace, for she remained elusive to everyone. Thinking about it, I realized that Ophelia had no best friend. Even her closest relatives remained indifferent to her fate. I had tried talking to her father, but he was angry and dismissive. He had told me that, "his debt to me was paid, so it wasn't his problem if I couldn't keep track of my own property”. The callousness of his statement had infuriated me, and Anthony had to forcibly drag me away from the man before I beat him senseless. If her own father didn't care what happened to her, then

Until bright stars puckered my vision. My feet started moving on their own as I left the room. "Council room is the other way, weirdo!" Ophelia called out after me, mirth in her voice. I squeezed my eyes shut, tears streaming down my face as I ran and ran and ran. What was I thinking? What the hell made me believe I could stand up to Ophelia? I couldn't survive here. I couldn't make it in this place. They were going to eat me alive.
