Books Are My Life... Novels & Stories

Maybe the only fun I had there was flying with swords. Then the future galactic world? Honestly, out of all my ninety-nine reincarnations, I didn’t reach that kind of world yet or even some apocalyptic world, and I’m thankful for that. [11:59 pm] It really felt like I am having some sort of a countdown for New Year. But in my case, it's a countdown for my New Life. Yes, let's just call it new life and not death. It sounded depressing to call it like that.

I am reaching a great milestone in my life; here I am completing my first book with so much love. Books are the greatest but simple magic for letting us live a fantasy just by turning the pages. I love to read books very much because it was an escape for me from my real life. Not that I have a troublesome life; but I love to roam around the fantasies and adventures rather than the boring robotic life. It was great to know I was capable of making someone live such a fantasy with my words. Thank you once again for everything! Loving you soooooooo much, cupcakes. Alizeh: 'I know, but I can't control my laugh! Varun: "I can say this also with that other meaning, but I am not like that na!" Alizeh: "I know that you are not like that, I know it really well knows! by the way when is my book coming!" Varun: "Maybe 23!" Alizeh: "Yayy, I will keep it with me always!" Varun: "You can also keep me with you always!" Alizeh: "I know, you can also keep me!"

I demanded, furrowing my brow in disbelief. I was pissed because Lydia was tearing the book without remorse. Books are like living things to me; they have characters and the lives of those characters in them, so they ought to be treated with care. Every crease on the cover, every worn page tells a story not just of the narrative within, but of the readers who have journeyed through its words.

I stand there for a long moment in a room where my parents’ entire story apparently began, holding the exact object that has shaped so much of what’s happened to my family this past year. Eli watches me quietly, saying nothing. I look down at the book in my hands, at the cracked leather cover, at everything it apparently represents, decades of history, betrayal, blackmail, blood. “This stupid book,” I say finally, “has ruined enough lives. This ends.”

Good book. Is this all, getting in a good book? Then I would love to be in his bad book for my life. Good book my ass...! *************

I turned around again on my bed trying to find a magic position to make me sleep and forget reality. I just couldn't rest, as I turned around my eyes landed on that one book, that one book I do not like to cslla book , I call it life. I got off my bed and walked to my drawer to pick up my bible. I had gifted one to Desiree and I had one with me. I opened it up and started reading…. One hour later…. I closed down on my bible with a heavy sigh from my lungs. My heart was now steady and normal. I looked at the bible again and just smiled, funny how much life it had and no one seems to understand the gravity it has, the amount of life it gives.

That's enough. I close it and put it on the shelf next to the others. Four volumes of becoming. Of breaking and rebuilding. This life—the one I'm building with Adrian and Ava and everyone who's chosen to be part of it—this doesn't need documentation. It just needs living. And I'm finally learning how.

In this rare moment of peace, I’ve chosen a book, turned off the lights, and let the muted light from the cloudy sky illuminate the pages. A soft sigh escapes my lips as I glance down at the book on my lap. My finger traces the letters that read ′Book of Law’—this year’s edition. I’ve learned that a new one is printed annually, and Efrem possesses a copy of every single one, dating back to the very first one.
