The Wife He Forgot: Ashes to Empire

The Wife He Forgot: Ashes to Empire

POV: ISLA Finally, the advance copies arrived. A box on our doorstep. Plain. Nondescript. But inside: our story. "They're here," I called to Jaxon. He came running. We stood over the box like it might explode. "Open it," he said. "You open it." "No you open it" "Together?" "Fine" We opened it together. And there it was. Beauty & the Alpha

The furniture there was old and dusty, but beside the fireplace was a large wooden box that wasn’t as dusty as the rest of the contents of the room, which meant that it was a new addition. “Alex,” I tugged on his hand, “The box over there.” Alexander let go of my hand only to kneel down by the box, turning to look at me as I knelt down beside him before he lifted the lid of the box. I immediately recognized the navy hardcover book. “The Grimoire.” “She’s here.” Alexander remarked, lifting the spell book from the box. “Why hasn’t she shown herself yet?”

And the sooner I found out what that was the sooner I could, hopefully go back to living my quiet, uncomplicated life. “Like I said I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and I have to say I'm impressed with Christian’s choice. Not surprised but impressed. You are just what he needs in his life.” he took a breath but didn’t give me a chance to ask any follow up questions. “The Judge however would very much like to see you again.” The blood drained from my face. With shaking hands, I reached for my glass only to have Gio pull it out of reach. “No more alcohol for you.”

HEIR OF PAIN

HEIR OF PAIN

Before he could ask anything else, Ryder was gone — as silently as he had entered. The door beeped again and locked automatically behind him. For a while, Arden just stood there. The library was quiet again, but his heartbeat wasn’t. He looked down at the book in his hand, then sighed deeply. ~~~~~~~~NIGHT~~~~~~ Just like Ryder had said, a box was placed neatly on Arden’s bed. He saw it as soon as he came out of the bathroom, towel draped around his neck and hair still damp. The matte black box with a golden seal at the top. The seal carried the letter “B,” and Arden didn’t need to be told who it belonged to.

Still empty. Until finally, in the corner of the room, she found a black wooden box. Victoria’s heart immediately began racing. The black wooden box bore the same crescent moon symbol. “It can’t be.” Victoria’s hands trembled slightly as she opened the box. Inside lay an old book bound in black leather. Victoria froze. A satisfied smile slowly spread across her face. “I found it. That journal…” Victoria clutched the book tightly. “I finally found the journal.” ***

Chris laughed when he entered the store and saw two boxes of books on the counter. When Jack looked up at him, he nodded and smiled as he wrapped up the last of the Shakespeare editions. “Hello, Jack. I guess you met my friend, Fiona?” he asked, shoving his hands into his coat pockets. “I sure did. She’s a fine young lady with good taste in literature, Chris. You should be very proud.” “What did you find?” Chris asked, approaching the boxes to take a

I approached it, scanning the spines of the books. Each was in pristine condition, their covers uncreased, as if they had been bought but never read. On the top shelf, just out of my reach, was a small box. It caught my attention immediately. It was cardboard with wear around the edge of the lid. It wasn’t like anything else in the apartment. I stood on my tiptoes, stretching as far as I could, but my fingers barely grazed the edge. I hopped up, trying to get a grip.

Story is engrossing and imaginative. However, the author is writing 12 stories at the same time, so as other reviews say, updates are *really* slow . Check whether it’s completed before beginning! To the author: please concentrate on finishing the ones you have already begun before starting others.

His Broken Ex Wife

His Broken Ex Wife

She put on a devious smile, straightened up and lifted the open manuscript up – very much like a grandmother who is about to read a lovely goodnight story to a child. “Let me read to you from this chapter,” she chirped. “It’s titled – and I quote –B-J.” Jack swallowed. Obviously this book really was X-rated. “P Jas in pajamas?” he asked quickly. Sarah shook her head. “Nooo,” she drawled. “NotP-Jas in pajamas,B-Jas in –“ “Brother Joe?” Jack blurted out as if he was in the final round of a TV quiz show. “Orbad Jack?” He batted his eyes.
