Books Like Between Two Fires Novels & Stories

I whisper. This time, the tears don’t feel like weakness. They feel like healing. Like something finally beginning. ************************ Unspoken Desires - Book 3…. Coming Soon

The third novel published on a Thursday in February. The title — Both Parties — on the cover above Elian's name, the cover designed with the same restraint as the first two, the publisher understanding that the work carried its own weight and the cover's job was simply to hold it. The first sentence was on the first page: The land had been here before anyone came to it and would be here after everyone left, but in the time between, it was possible — if you stayed long enough and paid the right kind of attention — to enter into a conversation with it that changed both parties permanently.

Never-the-less, Oliver took a deep, steadying breath and imag- ined exactly what he wanted the flames to do. For him, in this moment, time seemed to slow infinitesimally as the fire began to build and grow to encompass his body completely. With a strength of will, he pushed them from his skin and the flames swirled around him as if they intended to create a wall of destruction about their master. The raging fires convulsed and grew, sucking in the flames from the dorms through broken windows like a monster devouring its prey. Faster and faster, the wall of fire swirled and built until finally

Okay sooo… plot twist I’m down with a lil sickness and it’s mid-semester exam season (double whammy, I know). So I’m hitting pause for about a week. No updates till I crawl out of this academic + flu combo. In the meantime, if you're bored or miss me (which you totally will), go binge my other books! Just search Lashes and wherever you see my pfp, yup, that’s me doing my thing. Books: The Perfect Marriage Fraud, The Blood Catalyst (highly recommend)

he interrupted. “Stop following me Jax,” I commanded establishing my authority changing the conversation because at the end of the day he was just a massive fan of mine. “No, I want recommendations on books, preferably the slow burns with two people trying to fight their connection when they were soulmates from the moment they met but they were blind.” I know what he was doing. He was trying to describe our romance but ours was a tragedy, not a romance in my books anyway. I huffed annoyed and played his game, by saying “I would recommend Birthday Girl by Penelo-“

Mostly people said her hair looked like flames of fire. Miranda was not any less better looking than her sister. She had beautiful long dark hair that complimented her bright blue eyes. Her eyes were so clear that looking into them made one feel as if they could see Miranda's soul! Miranda had a pair of long beautiful slender legs that made her look like a super model.

With a gentle hug, I put the book down and immediately left for work. At 5:30 I was behind the shop waiting for my employers. I began to think about what happened last night. I was contemplating how a small book could increase in size by itself. The book could talk and give instructions for humans to follow. What amazed me more was the fact that fire of blood could rest in a bowl and the book didn’t burn but when I put my hand I was burning that I could even felt the fire even in my intestines.

I stopped at the library door and smiled to myself. ‘Books are better than people. Books don’t hate on you for something you didn’t do.’ I pushed the door open and breathed in the wonderful smell of books. ‘Paradise.’ I strolled to the shelves and scanned through the books, reading their names off their spines. ‘It seems Dante wasn’t joking when he said half of his library was filled horrors.’ A book caught my eye, and I pulled it from the others. “Bone and Souls by B. Brian.” I read the name aloud and skimmed through the description behind it. “This seems interesting.”

It not like it’s normal see someone on fire was normal but he said nothing. I will think about that later not now. I do not go to my dorm. I go straight to the library. The forbidden section smells old and heavy, like dust and secrets layered on top of each other. I search shelf after shelf, pulling out books on elemental magic, ancient bloodlines, cursed abilities, fire wielders, forbidden hybrids. Nothing matches. Nothing talks about blue fire. Frustration claws at my chest until my fingers brush against a thick, worn book shoved far back on a lower shelf.

(My favorite). Red is believed to be the color of love. But it has the intensity to burn. Its flames when roar leaves nothing. They only destroy. But so, does love. This time Hades will burn. Everything. Because if it turns out that the girl, he has been searching for is someone he loves. The fire in his eyes will leave no ashes. Should I let myself get caught in the crossfire?
