Chapter 16 "Here," a boy smilingly said while handing me now the book that I was just reaching earlier from the top of the bookshelves when I finally faced him. Our position is so close to each other right now that is why I can smell how good is his smell and I can feel my heart just pounded because I am still surprised by what he just did. His beautiful smile was what I first noticed on him the moment I faced him. He has equal and color white teeth. His skin color is tan. He has a thick eyebrows, a color black eyes, and a Grecian nose. And he is taller than me.

I like like you too Jace smiled and beaconed on her to get up so they could get going. The both of them kept smiling till they reached the library. I pleaded with hopefully eyes. Alax paused and looked at me before smiling. His smile was contagious because I was smiling right back. "Fine. What are you having trouble with?" Blake asked as he grabbed my book. His soft expression was replaced with a furrow of his eyebrows. It told me he felt the same way. "What is this?" He asked more confused as he flipped through the book with a weird Expression on this face. I couldn't help but snatch it back and sigh. "Obviously a book on laws that makes no sense at all." I said as I flipped through more of the pages from the section we are suppose to be looking at.

And I don't know what's wrong with him in my head, but he looked so attractive with his hair messed up wildly. Grean, with his head stuck inside a book; whose headline was “Advantages of Being a Marginalized”; He ignored the abnormal attitude of his friends until he pulled a cigarette out of his black leather jacket and comically lit it with his friend's toy lighter. He looked up at us and gave me his best lopsided smile. There are killer smiles and those of Grean Elordi. I turned a little blushing, “I'll pretend I haven't seen anything.”

Alex reassures me with a gentle smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners in amusement. As I watch Alex, I can't help but notice how incredibly handsome he looks when he smiles. It's a rare sight, but when it graces his lips, it transforms his face, lighting up his features in a way that is both captivating and endearing. In that moment, I find myself wishing he would do it more often, allowing me to bask in the radiance of his smile. With a sheepish grin, I thank him once more, feeling a surge of appreciation for his unexpected kindness.

“Are you changing the subject again already, Annie?” My heart rate kicks up another beat. He says that like he knows me. He doesn’t. But the way he says my name like he’s accustomed to it—I don’t hate it. I hold the book a little higher. His lips curl higher. “It’s about what packs should do instead of claiming to own land.” “Are all the books about the same thing?” “Pretty much.” I return it to the stack. “You’re not interested?” He’s still smiling. It’s not a grin or anything, more like a soft curve, but he’s clearly enjoying this—talking to me.

A pair of girls walked past us. One of them glanced at me. Then smiled. Actually smiled. Not fake. Not mocking. Just… smiled. I blinked in surprise. She kept walking. “What was that?” I asked. Lila looked over her shoulder. “What?” “That girl.” “What about her?” “She smiled at me.” Lila shrugged. “Maybe she was being nice.” I frowned. “People don’t just decide to be nice.” “They do.” “Since when?” “Since the captain of the football team publicly embarrassed every jerk who’s ever picked on you.”

My chest tightens. Mom leans over. “Draw him a smile, sweetheart,” she says. Lila grabs a crayon. “Why do you not smile, Uncle Vor?” she asks. Her eyes big. Innocent. “You look sad.” The room quiets. Even the ocean seems to pause. I set my fork down. “I smile plenty, monster,” I say. I force a grin, wide but fake. “See? Happy.” Lila tilts her head. “Not real,” she says. “Real smiles go to your eyes.”

Williams yawned dramatically against me. Then suddenly looked up again. “Can I ask one more question?” I sighed softly. “That depends.” “Do you smile like this with Daddy too?” I blinked slowly. “What?” He touched my face carefully with his tiny fingers. “Your happy smile.” My chest tightened painfully again.
