I let out a sad laugh. "I can't imagine life without you, Chip." His thumb continued to stroke my cheek. "I can't." "I can't imagine life without you either." "You know what?" He smiled. "Let's not get sad about it. This is something to be happy about actually. Your writing is so amazing that a publisher wants to get your book published. That's something to be happy about, okay?" I laughed, tasting my tears on my tongue, "Yeah." "Yeah, that's the smile." He said cheerily. "That's the smile I fell in love with."

" " How about you get to page two hundred in three days then? " I flipped the pages over at once till I get to the last, page which was four hundred and two. " I can do that. " I look back at him. His eyes are fixed and squinted at the same time and then a straight line draws at the center of his lips before it draws up in a curve. " Perfect. " It was the most epic smile I ever witnessed, coming from him.

Eyes still closed. Legs trembling. Then he just took one book from the shelves. “Here,” he said, stretching his arm out. “Take a look at this book.” I quickly snapped out of the moment. It was as if I had just woken up from a very interesting dream. He looked at me with a tiny, knowing smile—one that almost mocked me. POV: Riley I thought about every time I had smiled at her. They should do a good thing with the power they had, instead, they killed my brothers and sisters.” “I know, I know.” Smile’s face was distorted, and wrinkles formed everywhere. Sleepy nodded a few times. “We will reform them. Please.” “No matter how much I hated them, I still love them. Even though this mouth denies them, this heart is against the idea.”

Her face sat in a sad smile and I badly wanted to erase it. "I have the book." I watched her eyes widen. "Have had it since I was a kid. You can come over to my quarters anytime you are free and we could both read it. I mean I'd love to read that silly book again." Star mouth fell into an open mouthed smile, reminding me of a child. "Yes! Of course, yes. Thank you." Then it happened, like a termite would creep under a rock, I felt my heart lift as I watched her smile. Her smile was like none I've seen before. I didn't take much effort to return it with one just as bright.
