Life in the Darkness

Life in the Darkness

"Do you know what I was thinking when I made the plan? I thought I could kill them, but... I also thought it was too easy; I want to make it harder for them little by little until they can't get up again; I want to see how they suffer, how they live in hell, and how they can live in darkness." Sheena chuckled and shook her head. "I've spent my entire life living in darkness; there's no light, and no one can help, so I promised myself that one day I'd come out of the darkness, and my wish has come true." Sheena sipped her drink and smiled. "In her last letter, Mother Esme told me to seek the light of hope, and that's you." She looked at Gaze, who was just listening to her. "You are my light,

Held Light, Held Close

Held Light, Held Close

The act was deliberate, a ritual of reclamation after a day spent defending inches of space. She didn’t write a prayer; faith felt too far away for that. She didn’t write an explanation—explanations were for other people. She wrote a list, the kind that made sense only in the language of her own survival. Crowding. The word pressed into the page with more force than she intended, the memory of bodies too close, the taste of other people’s breath still sour in her lungs. Light. She wrote it sharp, the memory of it stinging behind her eyes—overhead, relentless, the kind that made even her own skin feel like a spotlight.

The Alpha’s Scarred Healer

The Alpha’s Scarred Healer

I couldn't survive another confrontation tonight. The library felt different in the dead of night. The recessed lights cast a pale glow over the shelves, leaving the narrow aisles wrapped in long shadows. Tablets rested silently in their charging docks, their dark screens reflecting the light whenever I passed. The air was cool and still, carrying the familiar scent of old paper, dried herbs, and the faint metallic trace of electronics. I moved deeper into the stacks, my footsteps echoing softly across the polished stone floor. With every step, my tote bag seemed to grow a little heavier against my side.

The Pretty Prince and the Beast King

The Pretty Prince and the Beast King

Bioluminescent moss climbed the towers, glowing with a soft, pulsing light that replaced the harsh neon of the past. Aradaa stood on the balcony of their stone house, the leather-bound book heavy in his hands. He watched the light of the city reflect in the falling snow. The world was quiet, but it was a "Living Silence." You could hear the breath of the people in the streets, the movement of the water in the canals. He closed the Book of the Two Kings, the ink finally dry. Kaelor stepped out behind him, his arm sliding around Aradaa’s waist, pulling him back against the solid warmth of his chest. He rested his chin on Aradaa’s shoulder, the two of them watching the world settle into the col

Though a Mirror Darkly

“No doubt.” “What about those two small FedEx boxes?” “Most recent novels from Samhain Horror.” “Awesome. Those books I bought at the Webb County Library sale last week?” “Sorted into general and mystery fiction. Struck the mother lode with all those Mary Higgins Clark novels.” “We cater to all tastes, miss. Unless you like Twilight, 50 Shades of Gray or James Patterson. Folks want drivel, they can drive to Utica.” “Hey. I actually liked Twilight. It wasn’t all bad.”

His To Marry

His To Marry

It is Divergent, insurgent, and Allegiant first edition series, the notebook, The fault in our stars, and Shakespeare books. "I didn't know what kind of books you like, so I just picked the ones I think you might love"a voice startled me, and I placed my hand over my chest. "You scared me, " "Sorry," there is a dark grey wardrobe just behind the door. And a matt on the floor, a white round table at the corner. "It's fine really, I think I will read them. It's been a while since I have read an addictive book, maybe I will find one in these books. Who knows"I shrug, and sit on the bed.

I reached out and delicately retrieved it from the shelf, cradling it in my hands. A surge of anticipation coursed through my veins as I opened the book, its pages pristine and unmarred. The words within held the promise of hidden truths, a key to unlock the enigma that had consumed my thoughts. I read the title embossed in elegant lettering: "Tears of the Moon: Secrets Untold." My heart raced with excitement as I turned to the first page. The words danced before my eyes, weaving a narrative of forbidden knowledge and clandestine affairs. It spoke of a world beyond the ordinary, a realm where ancient forces converged and hidden battles waged under the pale light of the moon.

Sociopath in Love

Sociopath in Love

She didn’t even notice when she got so cold. “I see you prefer to shop in large quantities,” Yuna looked at the stack of books with a malicious glance. “We don’t have Simmons in the store, but we have a couple of books in stock: “Prayers to the Broken Stone” and “The Fall of Hyperion.” — “Hyperion” is not particularly interesting to me, but I would buy a collection of his stories. - Okay, I’ll call tomorrow and order delivery - it’s too late today. They probably dumped everything. And I'm closing in about twenty minutes. If you don't have plans, then let's go home together.

Curse of the Wolves

Curse of the Wolves

Well, while I caught my breath. While Orion scanned our surroundings, peering through the narrow gaps in between each shelf to the maze beyond, I found myself looking over the books at our backs. There were tombs both big and small, thick and thin, bound in various types of leathers and fabrics. Some had thick layers of dust clinging to them, while others appeared almost new. Another shelf moved, opening a path directly ahead of us. Towards the bottom sat a book that glowed, emitting a golden light brighter than that of the torches. It pulsated, flickering and dancing, and I had the strangest thought that it was calling out to me.

Absolutely love this book, couldn't put it down. I've honestly read it more than once haha. Any chance I can buy it in paperback? This is a great book, give it a chance you won't be disappointed. Love the characters, love the book, love it!

I love this story so much that I kept reading, not realizing it was already four in the morning, and I had to wake up to take my kids to school at 7. every story by this author is beautifully written and addictive, but I love the humor and the strong female character in this story the most.

Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate

Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate

something changes. I don’t know how, but I feel it—a subtle shift in the atmosphere, like the darkness in front of me is thinning out just a little. My senses sharpen, and I see it. Light. But the not kind that drives away the dark. This light doesn’t shine like hope. It isn’t warm or welcoming. It doesn’t heal. It’s more like it’s slowly swallowing the darkness, bending it to its will. It doesn’t push the shadows back. No, this light and the darkness are one and the same.

the alpha is supposed to be blind, it’s the whole premise of the book, yet the author constantly describes him as “seeing” people’s blood shot eyes, watching people walk away, looking at himself. it’s sloppy, bad writing. i don’t recommend the “sometimes not quite blind alpha”

Interesting characters. Interesting werewolf lore. I just hope the author never "cures" the blind alpha as he actually is mostly capable anyway. The FL goes through quite the character development, and that's putting it mildly. The quality of the narration and writing itself is publish-worthy.
