Because I Once Saw the Light

Because I Once Saw the Light

When I pushed the door open, I could smell the musty, dusty smell in the room at once. However, I immediately caught sight of the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room. I knew that this room was going to be very warm when the sun came up tomorrow, and that was more than enough. I made a makeshift bed on the ground and slid the photo album underneath my pillow. My diagnosis was tucked inside the album. Nobody would go through my things anyway, unless I was a dead person. I fell into a very deep sleep that night. There was no shouting or hollering from the debt collectors in my dreams. There was nothing but an endless abyss of darkness instead.

THE BILLIONAIRE'S BURIED TWIN

THE BILLIONAIRE'S BURIED TWIN

The windows faced the gardens, and the morning light was golden and warm and poured across the reading chairs like honey. She ran her fingers along the spines. Classics, histories, business books that probably belonged to Alexander. Nothing that looked even remotely interesting. “Where do they keep the fun books?” She moved to a different shelf where the light didn't quite reach. There were older volumes here—paperbacks mixed with hardcovers, spines cracked from actual use instead of just decoration. “This is more like it.” She crouched down, scanning titles. A thriller, a mystery and finally a romance with a cover so embarrassingly dramatic she almost laughed out loud. She reached for it an

WHERE LIGHT MEETS DARK

WHERE LIGHT MEETS DARK

"I approve." The four of them found themselves in a blur of baby socks, pacifiers, and arguments over baby book motifs. "Unicorns or woodland creatures?" Lily asked, holding two books. "Unicorns," Helena replied. "Woodland," Brenna argued. "I think we're having the gender reveal all over again," Vandaulf grumbled. Barkley barked once—apparently casting a vote for unicorns. They ended up buying both books. At home, after unpacking the ridiculous number of bags, Lily collapsed onto the couch.

LIGHT AFTER DARK

LIGHT AFTER DARK

But Lara did… and it hurt her more than what he did to her three years back. Since she was left alone by Christophe and Francine, she went off to explore after dinner, wandering through beautifully furnished and decorated reception rooms that were lifeless. Lara was delighted to come upon a library and, locating the English section, selected ‘Jane Eyre’, her favorite. She hadn’t read it for several years. But Charlotte Brontë failed her for the very first time. Lara found it impossible to concentrate. Standing up again, she cast the book aside and stepped through the curtains to open the French windows that featured in virtually every room. She walked along the terrace. As Lara passed by ope

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

Ernest said. Don looked up. He turned to a page. He read: "The darkness was not the absence of light. It was the presence of something else. The presence of the stars, the presence of the aurora, the presence of the snow reflecting what little light there was. The darkness held things. The light was what revealed them." He closed the book. "That is the same writer as the essays," Ernest said. "Yes. She has a consistent way of thinking about the dark. Not as lacking. As a presence."

Mr. President Has A Baby Bump

Mr. President Has A Baby Bump

It not like it’s normal see someone on fire was normal but he said nothing. I will think about that later not now. I do not go to my dorm. I go straight to the library. The forbidden section smells old and heavy, like dust and secrets layered on top of each other. I search shelf after shelf, pulling out books on elemental magic, ancient bloodlines, cursed abilities, fire wielders, forbidden hybrids. Nothing matches. Nothing talks about blue fire. Frustration claws at my chest until my fingers brush against a thick, worn book shoved far back on a lower shelf.

Amaka
The sequel is now published and currently ongoing. It has also been merged into Mr. President’s book ID, so you do not have to read it as a separate book if you do not want to. You can continue the sequel right here Or read it as a stand alone, and that is perfectly fine too.

THE SHADOW WITHIN HER (The shadow Queen Of Aetheria)

THE SHADOW WITHIN HER (The shadow Queen Of Aetheria)

Restricted Archives. The sign should have been enough to stop me.It wasn’t.I descended. The temperature dropped with every step, until the air itself felt sealed away from the rest of the world. At the bottom, a single table sat beneath a flickering torch, covered in books that looked older than anything I had ever seen. One title stood out. The Fall of the Shadow Queens. My breath slowed as I opened it.The pages were fragile, the ink faded but still legible.Illustrations showed figures surrounded by living darkness, not casting shadows but commanding them as extensions of themselves.

She Runs with Wolves

She Runs with Wolves

We looked through the books until the evening drew in, the warped glass of the windows dispersing the orange light of the streetlamps from outside into curved spirals and fragmented dots. It looked like golden-hued diamonds, scattered across a dark and turbulent sea. Skye stayed close as we searched, peppering my cheeks with kisses whenever I brushed past him to tug a heavy book out from the shelves. It was sweet, and I imagined myself blushing each and every time.

Swanne Lake
Such an exciting read so far! I am enjoying getting to know our main characters and discovering how their lives have come together while trying to anticipate what might happen next as each chapter is released. Having just finished the entirety of The Beta’s Daughter, this author is an amazing writer
Susan
A fantastic second novel, with a refreshingly different tone from the previous entry. The mythologies in this are very well developed and I am very excited to see how the story unfolds! The protagonist and her love interest and very engaging too and I am rooting hard for them!

Mortal

Mortal

The bookcases are unlike any I've seen. They're filled with leatherbound books, but behind them are other things: sculptures, paintings, strange trinkets, maps. I want to touch each and every detail, but this place feels too much like a museum. Brush against one thing and an alarm will go off. The books themselves seem to glow with a strange light. I rub my tired eyes, realizing the weird light I'm seeing must be from looking at my textbooks all day and barely sleeping last night. "This is incredible," I say.

Shadows of Solitude

Shadows of Solitude

The morning light filtered weakly through the curtains, casting fractured patterns on the floor — much like my thoughts, splintered and jagged. I sat at the small kitchen table, clutching my cup of cold coffee, staring at the leather-bound book *Reflections of the Forgotten* open before me. The stories inside weren’t just tales — they were warnings, lessons written in sorrow and hope. Women who had lived as shadows, trapped in lives borrowed from others, fighting to reclaim their own reflections.
