I stopped at the library door and smiled to myself. ‘Books are better than people. Books don’t hate on you for something you didn’t do.’ I pushed the door open and breathed in the wonderful smell of books. ‘Paradise.’ I strolled to the shelves and scanned through the books, reading their names off their spines. ‘It seems Dante wasn’t joking when he said half of his library was filled horrors.’ A book caught my eye, and I pulled it from the others. “Bone and Souls by B. Brian.” I read the name aloud and skimmed through the description behind it. “This seems interesting.”

Curiosity tugged at her to go to the library. She got out of the room and followed the path Alice had described. The library's doors creaked open, revealing rows of shelves stacked with books. The air was a bit dusty and cobwebs hung around. She wondered if people hardly came here. She trailed her fingers along the spines of the books until she found one titled: “The Lunar Bond, The mating of wolves” Her hand trembled slightly as she lifted the heavy book. She opened it, reading in silence about bonds, instinct and transformations.

The sound of water gently lapping against the shelves provided a soothing ambiance, creating a serene atmosphere that encouraged deep contemplation and study. As they ventured deeper into the library, Tritan, Finrir, Nerissa, Madissa, Bryan, and Joe found themselves surrounded by rows upon rows of books. The sheer volume of knowledge contained within those pages was awe-inspiring. Each book seemed to hold the answers to countless mysteries, waiting to be discovered by those who sought enlightenment.

I walk towards my mini-library I have in my room and I bring out a book, it's been a while since I got lost in one of these fantasies. I take one out, I use my hand to trace the Braille, this was my favourite book. The Princess Diaries, I remember always reading this, I made my father read it to me when I was little as well, I remember Pretty Little Liars, I overheard someone talking about it, and when I joined in their convo, they were talking about the movie, I only read the book, funny how most people don't know that most of these movies and series were based on books, and yes these books are re written in Braille so blind people like myself can also read it.

I’ve lived my life, protecting myself from the world, from disappointment, betrayal and lies, but with her, I began to bring down those walls until I didn’t even know when my feelings developed into so much more without even seeing a glimpse of her. I skim over her collection, Motorcycle Club, Mafia... Disney Villain tales… and then there are the classics that she accidentally slipped out that she reads before denying she read them. I like books with pictures though. Maybe when I’m ten like him, I won’t like picture books anymore? That sounds boring. I’ll like picture books forever. “There’s no monster or witch in your closet.” He keeps reading. “It’s your imagination.”

“In the corridor. By the offices.” I kept my voice even. “Did you.” “He nearly stepped on me. He was looking at his phone.” A pause. “He said sorry.” “That was polite of him.” “He asked what I was reading.” Ethan shifted, pulling his blanket up. “So I told him.” “What were you reading?” “The bridge book.” He yawned. “I told him about the wind thing. How the strongest bridges are the ones designed to move a little. He said he didn’t know that.” Another pause. “He seemed like he should know that.”

I gestured at the imposing volume open across her lap. Terra glanced down, pale cheeks coloring slightly. "Oh, it's...not for work." She tilted the embossed cover toward me almost shyly. "Wuthering Heights," I read aloud, surprise lifting my voice. I had not taken Terra for a fanciful romance devotee, especially given her wariness toward me now. But I quite preferred imagining her secretly a dreamer at heart. "A favorite from school days," she explained, fingertips drifting unconsciously to brush the worn cover. "Sometimes after long hours poring over technical manuals, a bit of poetry restores my spirit."

It's been a while since I have read an addictive book, maybe I will find one in these books. Who knows"I shrug, and sit on the bed.
