When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

He teased. “By the way, what is Daddy saying?” He mimicked a baby's voice. “Don't get too happy. When the incident happened, you were on watch.” It was my turn to smirk. “Check the book and get back to me.” I threw the delivery book to him. The delivery book is a book where we enter the list of people who overwatch the delivery of our goods– drugs, guns. We write it down to prevent tampering with evidence especially in cases like this.

"Yes." The girl quickly slipped an A sheet of paper into a catalog and said, "This sheet contains the list of tools you need this year," and she added a second sheet of paper, adding, "And this is your list of books to get this year." "Don't forget to read the catalog provided."

But relaxation wasn't what I had in mind. I stood up and walked over to the bookshelf, running my fingers along the spines of the books until I found what I was looking for. The worn leather-bound volume felt heavy in my hands as I carried it over to the coffee table and opened it to the marked page. The intricate illustrations of whips, chains, and other BDSM paraphernalia made my pulse quicken with anticipation.

Susan introduced me to her three assistants, who, in each hand, had folders that looked really heavy. Oh shit. "Oh, my Susan. This will take forever, won't it?" I sighed and started sitting down. She smiled at me and handed me my coffee and my very own thick folder. With beautiful lettering: The Bride Book. Damn... I bravely opened the folder and my heart sank when I saw that it had hundreds and hundreds of checklists. I quickly closed it with a loud thud. Fuck. Should've brought Ken with me. I drank my coffee as Susan was about to start and quickly shushed her and took a deep breath.
