The bookmark zipped out of my grasp and danced on the draft, landing a few feet away. Grunting through my teeth, I hurried after. He reached behind a thick leather-bound volume and pulled a hidden metal lever. The entire bookshelf clicked loudly and swung outward on heavy steel hinges, revealing a thick reinforced steel door equipped with a digital keypad. Kade typed a rapid sequence of numbers into the glowing panel, and the heavy door hissed open to expose a brightly lit concrete room.

VENUS Her lips quiver before she nods, watery eyes cast downward. She leads us toward a dusty shelf at the far end of the library. I’ve never seen anyone use it. Carefully, she pulls out a faded book. It clicks like a lever, and suddenly the whole shelf lurches forward and slides sideways with a low rumble, revealing a small door embedded in the stone wall behind it. From her pocket, Ava pulls out a golden key and inserts it into the lock. With a soft click, the door creaks open.

Tessa POV With a quiet click, Dorian pressed his palm to a hidden indentation in the wall. A subtle mechanism shifted, and the panel released with a muted hiss of air. The door swung inward, revealing a room unlike anything I’d expected. I stepped in slowly, blinking at the sudden shift in light. The room was illuminated not by harsh fluorescents or firelight, but by soft amber glowstones embedded in the ceiling - gentle, almost reverent. The space stretched wider than I’d anticipated, filled with shelves, scrolls, and books that looked ancient. The scent of ink, leather, and earth lingered, grounding and intimate.

The door made a creaking sound as if it had actually been decades when it was opened. She looked at me through her shoulders one more time before finally getting inside the space. I followed closely, the atmosphere felt so cozy. She stopped just before one specific shelf that says ‘restricted’ then without a second thought, she pulled out the drawer, and a big book rested just inside of it. I moved closer, my fingers rested on it before my eyes met the woman's gaze. Then she nodded her head, propelling me to go ahead. The book felt big and old between my fingers as I dragged it out. Then I placed it just on top of the table close by.

said Astrid, leading the way. Draco nodded and followed Astrid. The library building was very grand and tall. The exterior was designed in such a way as to leave a grand and luxurious impression. Various carvings adorned the arches of the doors and walls of the building. The government placed Gemstones at several points to make a grand impression. The library yard was quite wide and airy. Not too many people were passing by, so the atmosphere was not as noisy as before. Astrid entered through the giant door of the building. The door was made of carved wood and in the center was a painting formed by colored jewels. Two doormen opened the door for Astrid and Draco.

My footsteps echo softly, the silence almost watching me. Then I see it. A door. Slightly open. A small plaque beside it. Library. Curiosity pulls me forward. I push the door open and step inside. The lights come alive. And I stop. The room is breathtaking. Tall shelves stretch across the walls, filled with books. Wooden steps and ladders are placed neatly for the higher racks. Near the large window, a raised platform holds a beautiful couch, touched by soft moonlight. The air smells of paper and wood.
