After four full hours, Ariel's hands and feet had turned white and swollen from the water. Just when she was about to give up, the baby started kicking her, over and over. The force grew stronger before turning into sharp, dragging pains. Cold sweat broke out across her skin as something warm flowed out of her body. One of the men shouted in alarm, "God, there's blood! Pull her out of the water! Call the Commander!"

Alinta cried with tears running down, wincing at the sudden jerk of her hair, quickly silencing her. "Shh, shh, my vixen, let me explore and feel you, I promise I will not go too far," Onyx growled, then kissed the corner of her mouth and grazed his fingernails against the bumps of her ribs. She could feel his hand traveling higher just below her breast. Alinta was becoming lightheaded and started seeing black around her eyes, her body weakened as though it was shutting down from the panic attack.

He kept giving me sideways glances like he wanted to say something but knew better. “You're gonna snap,” he finally said. “I can smell the storm building in you.” ~~~ The moment I stepped into the hallway, I regretted showing up. There he was. Lucas Storm. Standing at his locker, his usual crowd was hanging around him. Boys from the football team, a few senior girls practically drooling. And then her. Brittney. She had her claws hooked into his bicep, her fake laugh bubbling like syrup, too sweet and toxic.Her body was angled towards him like she belonged there.

she trails off Alexander holds a hand up to her silencing her, he stands up and shakes his head “So you are telling me the girl I am in love with is going……..” He stops talking and I see the furious look on Kayla’s face “You WHAT!!!! she screamed at him I had to agree with her she was mated to him and he had just admitted he was in love with my mate. Kayla throws the book at him and storms out the room and Alexander chases after. There was so much I wanted to say to him but he had enough problems on his plate. Picking up the book and flicking through, there are pages on vampires, werewolves, witches even hunters and there was a whole section on Alpha-Lunas separate from the werewolf section.

Blood spills out from open wound. I take a step back as Valdis begins to stand again. He sheds his black armor, replacing it with deep ruby scales.  His scales, are cold as ice, blaze bright as an ever-flickering flame. His chest holds a hearth of burning fire, although in his remorseless heart lays rime much like the depths of his eyes. He lets out a huff of steamy air from his nose, staring on at me. The officials in the room gather in the back. Waves of fear roll from them in large bouts. My father stares into my eyes sending a large bout of dominance soaring through the room. The intense pressure has me gasping for air but I fight the urge to submit to him by releasing my own dominance.

However, when I glanced around, nobody was looking at me. I felt a ripple of worry. Halfway through dinner, I made an excuse to go to the restroom. I grabbed my bag and planned to make a quiet exit. Just to be safe, I slipped out the back door. The streets of Nexus City were jam-packed, so I waited for a ride under the cool shade of a tree. Out of nowhere, I heard quick footsteps behind me.

"I don't believe that. I can fix it. I can break it. There has to be a way." "There is," Orion said. "But not by hiding in the woods. Not by hoping visions and blood magic will save you." He reached into the satchel slung across his back and pulled out a small, battered leather book. He held it out to her. She hesitated, then took it. The cover was worn, the pages stained with old ink and ash. Her breath caught when she opened it. It was written in Old Vale script the language of her bloodline. Most of it was indecipherable, the ink faded, but one phrase had been circled in red:

Deimon's heart hammered against his ribs. Ignoring Kate's choked plea, he lunged towards her, his wolf desperate to answer the call of her heat. But before he could reach her, a searing pain ripped through his mind, a wordless command from Onyx – "Hold!" Deimon skidded to a halt, the air thick with unspoken tension. Kate's eyes, glazed with desire moments ago, flickered with a spark of returning clarity. Shame washed over her face, quickly replaced by a flicker of defiance as she met Deimon's gaze.
