Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed

Betrayed In The Mafia's Bed

I just finished five chapters in one sitting. I grabbed my phone, opened Telegram, and went to my chat group, Lovely Buricats 💦. It's a lively space filled with writers, and as usual, I was late to the conversation. I started back-reading their earlier messages, trying to catch up on the chatter I had missed. Born to Be Wild: Uggghh. Guys! Let's hit a bar tonight. I'm feeling down. How about the new Paradox Club? It just opened let's check it out.

Touch Me, Daddy

Touch Me, Daddy

I know all of Dr Ambrose's little grunts and noises. Well. Not all of them. I wish. "I went to my book club." Dr Ambrose nods. "Your naughty book club." Ha. "Yep. Shall I tell you about what we're reading?" See, he's not the only one who can toss out a challenge, but sadly he sidesteps mine. "No, I'd rather hear more about the club. Who else attends? Other students?" "Yep. It's mostly girls but there are a few guys too." "And you meet in...?"

Stranger Than Murder

Stranger Than Murder

"Billy? Huh, oh yeah, I'm fine. Yes. Lunch today, right." "Good, can't wait." She smiled again and left him with his jaw hanging open and a deer in the headlights gaze. When she got back to her desk, she sent Nicki a text asking him if he wanted to meet her for dinner and they could maybe go over their book club reading together. They met on Thursdays every other week for their book club. Most of the time, she got through half the book before she gave up and read the last chapter. Nicki would fill her in on the way over to the meeting what parts she was missing.

All's Fair in love and hate

All's Fair in love and hate

Another XY chromosome in attendance was a young lad that looked like he'd been forced to be here. Three men among six women, discussing an erotica book. At the risk of sounding like Sawyer, this really did look like one of those cults that adjourned with an orgy. "Shall we start?" My god mother broke the tension almost as if she could read my thoughts aloud. "I'm just going to start by thanking Zade Cutler for showing up to our book club. I didn't know a man of your...ehm..caliber was interested in books" I smiled. A smile that had the Smith women swooning and had Claire rolling her eyes with disinterest.

THE ALPHA'S HUMAN OBSESSION.

THE ALPHA'S HUMAN OBSESSION.

They would talk about magic, zodiacs and other stuff. And well I guess today they were in the mood because they found something super creepy. Yeah, not my lucky day as creepy was the last thing I needed right now. The head of the book club Brea Woodlands brought out a very old big worn out leather book, she blew dust from its thick back and said "Behold my family heirloom, the woodlands treasure." she said and we all hid a giggle trying to take her seriously. "Focus girls!" she snapped and we got into character. "This is a spell book that has been passed down for generations in my family. My family has many relatives, witches, charm casters, heretics, sorcerers, enchantresses, mages and so on

Accidental Bibliophiles

Accidental Bibliophiles

He lets out a frustrated sound and tips his head back, his lips moving dramatically as he silently prays for strength to deal with me. I've seen that look enough to know what it is. "Only the first night of book club is at the store. We take turns rotating every week to people's houses. They took pity on us and let us do it together." He says, showing me his sheet of paper showing what week people signed up for. I have one as well, but I just folded it and shoved it into my book not realizing what it was. "Shit, so what does that even mean?" I ask and Everett shrugs.

The Four Sides of Desire

The Four Sides of Desire

I’d make some new friends, and if that didn’t work out, I’d still have my coursework and classes. The book club met twice a week to accommodate for classes and the time it’d take to read the books, but it went from nine PM to midnight or later, just like a writing workshop—or so I was told. They were more than happy to let me join in, much to my relief, and were very welcoming. One of the girls in the club, Alice, talked to me as everyone waited for whoever volunteered their car for the evening to arrive.

Accidentally Kidnapping The Don

Accidentally Kidnapping The Don

I’m trying to be patient, but it’s harder than I’d like to admit. Two months ago, I opened my bookstore, and it’s been incredible. Twice a week, we host book clubs, and I’ve made it a point to bring one of the guys with me to each session. It’s hilarious watching their faces as we dive into the discussions. The women seem to enjoy it too—something about discussing steamy romance scenes with a bit of eye candy in the room. The door finally creaks open, and I sit up straighter as they walk in.

Absolutely loving this book. Not sure how I came across it, but found it and read first 15 chapters in an hour, without being able to put it down. It literally makes me LOL! Love the crazy dynamic between Demitri and Demi! Will update my post when I finish it. Hopefully end is as good as the start.

loving both books. but in the second book, the chapter Her Weirdness and A Suprise are the same and there's a chapter missing. I'm guessing A Suprise is the chapter that's a duplicate and the proper chapter is the missing one as you miss what keeley tells her. can this be made right please

The Mate Agreement

The Mate Agreement

He shifts back; putting a seat between us and truly looking horrified. Bibah simply shakes her head at our childish shenanigans and takes a sip of her iced latte, metal straw clinking in the Hydro Flask. “The Awoo Book Club’s pick for this week is H.P Lovecraft.” She pats the voluminous book atop the pile and I notice it’s the library copy of H.P Lovecraft’s Omnibus 3. “I’m so excited to roast his ass.”

Silenced Bride, Relentless Love

Curiosity spread through the room as everyone gathered around. Daniel carefully opened the first box. Inside were dozens of children’s books. The second contained handwritten bookmarks decorated by students from every class that had participated during the reading week. One by one the volunteers lifted them from the box. “Thank you for reading with me.” “Please visit again.” “My favorite dragon was the grumpy one.” “Books are better when someone reads them out loud.” Emily held up a bookmark covered with bright yellow stars. “This one is beautiful.” Oliver pointed to another.

Frequently Asked Questions

A cozy, local coffee shop is usually where our bookworms' reading group gathers. There's something magical about the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the scent of books. We typically choose a place with comfy seating and free Wi-Fi, allowing us to settle in for a few hours. On weekends, we often grab a big communal table, especially since many of us like to bring along snacks or pastries to share. It's become a little tradition to explore different cafes in town, adding an element of adventure to our meetings.

Sometimes, we venture into the public library for a change of pace. There's an inspiring energy in a library, surrounded by all those stories and knowledge. Plus, we can check out new titles together! Other times, someone in the group offers their home for a homey feel, where we can also chat about everything from the latest read to our favorite book adaptations. Just the other week, we settled into one friend’s backyard with blankets, and it felt like the perfect literary picnic under the sun while discussing 'The Night Circus'!

Our meetups are always filled with laughter and in-depth conversations, and honestly, it becomes less about the books sometimes and more about the friendships we've built. I like to think these local spots have shaped our discussions and turned our group into a vibrant community. It's such a fulfilling experience!
