~Enzo~ Sometimes, you can break a man with instruments of torture. As his bones shatter and blood pools, he’ll eventually give in and do anything you say to stop the pain. I’ve only met one or two who couldn’t. If you let him live afterwards, he’ll never be quite the same, knowing he wasn’t as untouchable as he once thought he was.

Rhea’s POV “If you’re my curse, I’m the luckiest cursed son of a bitch in this whole universe” How deeply this sentence burned through me in the most vulnerable place within me cannot even be described in words. It touched the core of my heart and nestled itself in there forevermore. It lit a match of fire back into me and the impossible thing I told him would never happen, happened. Scattered dead pieces of me sparked back to life. Reborn again from his vows and promises to me.

My heart pounds so hard I’m sure it will burst. “Vaelora.” The voice is distant. Muffled. Aching. I squeeze my eyes shut. This isn’t real. It can’t be. It feels like a story I once heard. A nightmare I’ve had before. But the heat is real. It seeps through the walls. Through the floor. Through my skin. A scream splits the air. A woman’s scream. I bolt upright beneath the blankets, but I can’t move. My body won’t listen. The air grows hotter, thicker, impossible to breathe. Shadows flicker red beneath my door now, dancing like cruel spirits.

This I knew. The curse is sentient in the specific sense that it learns the host and adapts its compulsion to the host's specific psychology. This I knew. Then I reach the part I did not know. The curse strengthens in direct proportion to the depth of genuine feeling in the heir. A cursed heir who does not love fully will experience the curse as a low persistent compulsion, manageable and mild. A cursed heir who loves deeply will find the curse magnified to its full capacity, as the curse feeds on the genuine emotion and turns it against both the heir and the beloved. The greater the love, the greater the destruction.

I whispered. Eldrick groaned. It was a sound of pure agony. He leaned his forehead against mine. We stood there for a long time, just breathing each other's air. For a moment, we weren't an Alpha and a servant, we were just two broken people tied together by a golden thread that wouldn't break. "This is a curse," he whispered. "No," I said softly. "It’s a gift. You are just too proud to see it." Eldrick stiffened. He pulled away from me and stood up straight. The coldness came back into his eyes, but I could see his hands were still shaking.

“I hereby curse you with pains upon pains, you will search for sleep but never touch it, you will chase love but never taste it, you will bleed and you will weep until the day you stumble upon peace, and you will not see” I clamped my palms against my ears, refusing to hear the rest of her venom. Where was she when this curse first sank its claws into me? Passed down through blood I never asked for, chained to my soul before I even breathed my first breath I screamed, I broke, I endured, and still I held on because what else was left?

"Because I found something at the Bodleian. Old texts from your time. Writings on spells, curses, witches. I have been working on them for days, trying to decipher them. And I think I have." He handed me a book, his notes marked in the margin. "I think what we felt when we kissed was not just us. It was the curse. Reacting to you. And to me." I blinked at him. "What do you mean?" He guided my eyes to the passage he had underlined and read, his voice low and steady. "It says: Only the kiss of true love, the union of fated souls, creates a ripple strong enough to shatter the curse." The words blurred. As soon as he turns his back on us and he starts walking away, frustration swallows me whole, and I feel tears drip down my face, staining my cheeks. This was it! This was the end of my freedom, wasn’t it?! This was how my life would end… at the hands of men! Of one who is supposed to love me and protect me, one whom I call my father, and another who will do nothing but use me as their slave, as their housekeeper, as their toy… I feel sick! I feel abandoned! My life has no meaning! It did not have one from the moment I came into this world with a cunt between my legs! It was then when my destiny was decided, wasn’t it?!

I am not letting a curse produce more curses It replays in my head and my chest stings more. Ofcourse curse bring with it pain. I am cursed therefore pain is me.......
