Bound By Prophecy, Claimed By Fate Novels & Stories

The witch’s gaze shifted again, far away for a second. Like she was listening to something only she could hear. Then— “She’s not waking properly.” My eyes narrowed slightly. “What does that mean?” “She should feel it more,” the witch said. “Not less.” Mara’s expression tightened. “That aligns with what he said.” “Yes,” the witch murmured. “But that’s not the problem.” “Then what is?” I asked. Her eyes met mine again, sharp this time. “You bound her too early.” Silence dropped hard.

I pull Lyra against my chest, forcing myself upright even as the Devourer’s gravity screams. “You don’t get to claim her,” I snarl. “She chose me.” Lyra’s fingers tighten around mine. Her voice becomes something fierce, divine, unstoppable: “And I choose him AGAIN.” The Devourer howls— A sound that splits the sky shakes the ocean and fractures the moon a final time. Then— A single line of prophecy burns itself into my mind, not spoken but carved: When the Devourer claims, nothing escapes. Not gods. Not wolves. Not fate.

Her tears wet his collar, but neither spoke right away. “I thought I lost you,” she murmured into his shoulder. “I would’ve found you. Even if it killed me.” Selene stood back, watching with something like quiet awe. “He’s bound to you. Not just by love. By fate.” Emily pulled back, eyes wide. “What are you saying?” Selene’s expression darkened. “When you awakened, something changed. You’re not just bonded as mates. You’re marked by prophecy.” Alexander’s brow furrowed. “What does that mean?”

A hand caught me and I looked down to see the Alpha's mother staring at me sympathetically. I looked wildly back at Sean and Anya. "Over my dead body,” I hissed. "Over my dead body will you marry her on my wedding day? You can't!" Sean raised a bored eyebrow. "You don't get to decide that." Another hand landed on my shoulder and pulled me to a sturdy body. I knew it was my dad. “Beta Sean,” the priest finally said, "I cannot marry you and..." He gestured to Anya who still hadn't said anything. "...the other woman. You are still mated to Nova, so the Moon Goddess won't honor such a union."

“You can walk away. No one’s forcing you to carry the weight of this prophecy.” I turned to Astra, confused. “What do you mean? What prophecy?” The two of them shared a look, one I couldn’t decipher, and then Luca’s voice broke the silence, a low growl rumbling in his chest. “It’s not just a prophecy. It’s a fate. One that binds us, whether we like it or not.” I felt the cold sweat prickling at the back of my neck. I had heard the word "prophecy" before, in bits and pieces, but I never really understood what it meant. And now, as Luca’s gaze met mine, the reality of it seemed too big to grasp.

Bound by fate rather than choice. I thought about Trixie's stubborn refusal to be protected, about the careful way she'd wrapped my ankle before finally agreeing to go home, about every single moment over the past weeks that had felt less like falling for someone and more like being pulled toward something I'd never fully understand until it was far too late to turn back. I thought too about the elder's warning that naming a prophecy too early could shape belief into self-fulfilling certainty, and wondered whether it was already too late for that particular caution to matter. Some things, once seen clearly, couldn't be unseen simply because acknowledging them felt dangerous.

she whispered. A cold wind blew past us, making her gown flutter like smoke. “What about it?” my father asked sharply. She turned her white eyes toward me. “The prophecy says the chosen one Bryain cannot be with a human mate.” My stomach dropped violently. She continued, her voice trembling as if the words were painful to speak. “If the chosen one stays with a human girl… one thing must happen…one thing that fate cannot change.” I swallowed hard, my chest tightening. “What are you talking about?”

His instinct only tells one thing to do. Survive. But on that fateful day, he met his goddess of fortunes as his savior. His life rescuer. Someone who has destined to be his home. A safe haven for him. Ever since that day, his feet entered her life. If Sister Hua didn't show up that day, his fate probably ended it up in the sewers or even worse. He could be a pocket thief or a beggar. Busying himself begging on the street with no future. Now, slowly, with a straight head, his path life was steady and clear. He no longer feels scared of what future has hold for him ahead.

The elder's voice resonated with a mixture of hope and caution as she recited the prophecy. "In a time of darkness, when love faces its greatest test, a bond shall arise. Three shall become one, and one shall become three. Their love, unbreakable, shall unravel the deepest of curses. They shall be the key to a new dawn, where unity reigns and love conquers all." John's heart skipped a beat as he realized the significance of the prophecy. Millent and the triplets embodied the very essence of the prophecy—the unity of three souls bound by a love so powerful that it could defy the darkness.

Xatar continued, his voice a gentle breeze carrying whispers of ancient knowledge, "a fruit of a love once true, a desire forbidden shall bring forth a song of victory or our cries of sorrow." Navana's eyes widened, her spirit entwined in the tendrils of a bittersweet truth. She had known all along that the prophecy referred to her hidden daughter, the embodiment of a love that transcended realms and a desire that defied divine laws. Yet, bound by her sacred oath, she resolved to keep her knowledge buried deep within her heart, even as the weight of the prophecy threatened to unravel their carefully woven existence.
