My mom asked me as I was busy glaring at Tanya who was looking at me and by the looks of her it was making me uncomfortable. I looked at my mom but before I could speak Tanya cut me off. "Yes I'm the one Aunty, he is my boyfriend" she said and smiled widely at my mom and my eyes widened at her answer. When I looked at my mom she looked beyond pissed. She looked at Tanya looking for the ways to make her voice stop because I can tell by her look that he was seconds away from strangling Tanya's neck.

I answered and leaned my head at the headboard of my seat. We are now here inside the mall, strolling, holding our Starbucks we bought in the first floor. He smiled warmly, and my mom’s face lit up. “Oh! Amber, this is Roberto,” she said, gesturing toward him. “My boyfriend.” Boyfriend? More like a man-friend. The last time we had a conversation about the man she was dating, his name definitely wasn’t Roberto. Or was it? It’s hard to keep up with Mom’s myriad of men. Roberto extended a hand toward me. “It’s nice to finally meet you, Amber. Your mom has told me so much about you.” “Uh, hi,” I mumbled, taking his hand briefly before pulling away.

He responds in a blunt tone, his Mom looks between them with a fake smile before shifting her gaze to me. "Cassandra, who's your friend?" She tilts her head, staring at me, specifically at the tattoos scattered on my arm. "My boyfriend's name is Jace, mom." Cass places her hand on the back of my chair. "Boyfriend? You broke up with Jake?" She doesn't sound surprised. "This is not the time." Cass shakes her head at her Mom, basically shutting her up. Wow, I wish I had that kind of power. "Okay, then, let's eat." The woman puts on that annoying fake smile again as she rubs her hands together.

Tessa lied effortlessly, and the woman - her mom - placed her book down beside her without a bookmark. "Did you finish your schoolwork?" Her mother asked, and her gaze fell upon me after Tessa answered. "Hi, Abby. I'm Etta." Her voice was friendlier than I would have expected, from the book beside her. "Thank you for having me." I said politely, and Tessa ducked out of the doorway, and I took it as our cue to go. I could hear her mother laugh, assumedly thinking her daughter was as crazy as I thought she was. I mean, how insane did you have to be to befriend your boyfriend's girlfriend?
