Caelum’s entire body went still. Briar Maddox. The Hawthorne wolf, who had once expected to become Caelum’s Luna, now stood at the head of a group of Hawthorne warriors wearing the Interregnum’s black sigil. Her smile was sharp when she spotted him. “Well,” she called across the battlefield, voice dripping with satisfaction. “Look who came home.” Caelum’s expression hardened. “You chose this.” “You abandoned us first,” she snarled. The courtyard had become a battlefield. But now it was something else as well.

Eldric said "it recognizes the Moon Child" Then I heard a sound in the trees, i heard movement. "Warriors" I shouted "we have company" My twenty warriors immediately moved into defensive positions. Arrows flew from the darkness of the forest. They whistled through the air aimed at Elvanya. "Protect the circle" I roared. My warriors raised their shields and the arrows bounced off. More arrows came. Then figures emerged from the trees. Rebels. At least fifty of them. All armed with swords and spears.

“B-but, how?” Mei laughed, amused at the look of bewildered shock on Jade’s face. “It’s a special skill I’ve had since… since…” Mei’s smile vanished. She seemed to be hesitating about something. “Since?” Jade prodded. “Well, you see,” Mei continued. “I’m sure you’ve heard about the beast gods. Well, I’m actually one of the seven stars of a beast god.” “WHAT? I can’t believe it! Which holy beast?” Mei raised an eyebrow, “Bai Hu.”

In the open courtyard dozens of warriors gathered—some bruised from the recent border attack, others pale-faced from the shock of losing brothers the night before. The air smelled of sweat, and unresolved rage. Kimberly stood at the center of the grounds, her hair tied high, eyes glowing faintly with silver-blue sparks. Beside her, Delilah adjusted the cuffs of her enchanted sleeves, faint runic symbols glowing along her wrists. The murmur among the warriors died the moment Kimberly raised her hand.

Another tosses sneezing powder. A tiny one named Pib throws eggs. Spirit warriors, confused and slipping, begin to panic. A few Misfits pull Bran and Kaelith toward the healer’s tent. Bran is barely awake. "You okay, sir?" one asks. Bran groans. "I'll live. Just get her safe." Tiara laughs once, even in battle. The Misfits are not trained soldiers, but they are fighters in their strange way. "Protect the altar!" Luna shouts. More spirit warriors fall over traps. Banana peels. Tar buckets. Smoke bombs. They scream and dissolve.

Okay, I have to play this right, they were warriors, massive and expert. They came from the opposite side—half-wolves, half-mercs, growling and stinking of wolfsbane and dark serum. “Oh great,” I snarled. “Party’s full!” That’s when Barbie decided to show off.

All you heard was the scream of the warrior as his hands were severed, then Rayne showed him mercy by jerking her whip taking the warrior’s head off. .

They gave in on our torture just in a day and started talking. When we reached the location after a day long run, 20 rouges were waiting for us. We had walked straight into it. We were easily outnumbered. But then again it's not easy to take down warriors of Pearl moon pack. Only fire will do.” His voice was hoarse. Evelyn nodded, drew the flame nozzle from her sidearm, and pulled the trigger. A ribbon of blue plasma swept out, devouring the creatures in a sea of fire.

She didn’t miss the way the brothers exchanged glances, the urgency in their steps, the way Gary looked unusually serious. Something wasn’t right. Gary led them down the path, past the final ring of fires, until they reached a clearing where the scent of blood clung to the air. Amarok’s eyes sharpened. Frost warriors stood around, some bruised, some shirtless, clearly just from a brawl. Mixed among them were men from the Star pack—the same group that brought the tattooed woman who’d fought Tara earlier. The same ones Amarok had crossed in the arena. “What the hell happened here?” Geri demanded.
