Whatever I was given has rendered me useless in this moment. I see the figures surrounding the pair of women fighting. They are starting to move in when the one woman kicks the other in the abdomen and flings her into a tree. I hear the bones break and something breaks inside of me. “NO!” I scream as I sit up and race over to Elizabeth. My mate. Elizabeth is my mate. My mate is broken in front of me. I keep repeating Elizabeth’s name in my mind in case I forgot it again. I do not know what happened, but remembering this woman was my mate is my lifeline.

I had nothing left in my system. After I felt Allister tie my hair up, I heard and smelled the tell tale signs that he was starting a bath for me. Tonight had been too much.
