Broken Mirrors Book Novels & Stories

The entire room was like a small apartment, she thought then she gasped and facepalmed upon remembering that she's actually in an apartment complex. She saw that there was a door beside the wall wardrobe, about a few inches away from it. She sauntered to it, curious what lies behind the mysterious door and she squinted her eyes, lifting her free arm to cover them because of the gloriously gleaming treasures hidden behind the door. It was a bathroom, a dignifiedly neat one, with marble-like restroom fittings and fixtures. Even though she was a few feet away from them and she has quite the bad eyesight, she thought she regained her 20/20 vision and could easily see and recognize all the neat s

She’d sneak them back to the trunk in the morning. The book was old, with patterns engraved into the leather cover and there were burn marks around the edges, too. Like someone tried to burn the book. Gemma shook her head and tucked the brown leather book away in the spacious cavity. The ornate mirror was harder to handle because of its weight, and Gemma was more careful with it. But she wanted a closer look at it. Its frame looked like silver. Evan was correct. The mirror’s reflection was off. She could not see her own image in it. Gemma needed to concentrate and stare hard into the glass to make out anything.

Arc II – The Curse Rewrites Itself Chapter 7: The Curse That Loved The mirrors began breathing. That was the first sign. Every pane of glass in the manor fogged and cleared in rhythm — as if the house itself had lungs. Every heartbeat echoed twice: once from Mira’s chest, and once from somewhere deep within the walls. And sometimes, when Adrian spoke her name, it whispered back. --- At first, Mira tried to joke her way through it. “Okay,” she said one morning as the mirror by the door sighed, “either I need more sleep, or our décor has developed abandonment issues.”

But of course, because of that blasted mirror, she was transported to my realm, had her brain fucked up with the reality that Earth wasn’t the only livable world in existence, and experienced the shittiest welcome my kingdom could offer with my sword and me as the main contributor to it. I cleared my throat and hid those realizations to myself. “What else is there?” I asked. “Hmm?” She gave me a genuinely clueless face. “Was the mirror placed together with a book maybe? Or any other unusual items?” “Uh, nothing. Just the mirror. It was covered in dust if that’s something you’d like to know.” I shifted in my seat, hating that this was a dead end. “So I would assume it is just one.” “I think s

In every shadow, in every reflection… inside me. The grand central hall loomed before them. Cracked chandeliers swayed slightly, casting jagged patterns of fractured light across the marble floors. Shattered mirrors lined the walls, fragments floating midair in impossible, gravity-defying arcs. At the far end, the largest mirror once the prison of Afterlight began to ripple and shimmer as if water disturbed by a stone. And then she emerged.

He has made my child into a ceiling. I have to fight under it. So I burn small. Again. Stupid word. Nothing in this room stays small. The relic beyond the transparent wall flares through the glass. The silver webbing across my stomach lifts like wire under skin. The child wakes toward the fight with a violence that steals my breath. Heat slams down my arms. The Well mirror smiles without smiling. She takes the edge of my burn and turns it. The fighter mirror moves in the gap. I stop trying to outfight her.

"You smell like him." My heart stopped. The hounds are coming. I looked past Kael, past Ronan's brooding glare, past Zephyr's calculating silence—and I saw the shattered mirror. In the reflection, just for a split second, a pair of molten gold eyes blinked back at me from the darkness. I wasn't crazy. And my life was about to change forever. END OF CHAPTER 2

“You’re scaring me.” I pointed toward the mirror, my voice trembling. “She’s… she’s not me.” He followed my gaze, frowning. “There’s nothing there.” The reflection laughed silently, eyes glinting like liquid silver. Then, before my eyes, it reached out and pressed its palm against the inside of the glass. A faint shimmer spread outward like ripples on water. The mirror moved. A pulse of light burst through the room. I screamed as Damien grabbed me, pulling me away just as a crack sliced down the center of the glass. The sound of breaking was deafening.

“Esmerelda is not responsible for what happened to Melanie. Nor is she a police officer who is required to investigate what happened. She’s a guest in this house just like the rest of you. I would appreciate your consideration in this matter.” Ignoring the open glowering and snide remarks that were being whispered about me and my association with the very coveted Lance Northrup, I closed my eyes to see if I could get an impression from the house as to what happened. All I could get were the words, ‘The other side of the mirror.’ They made absolutely no sense to me, even though they sounded in my head over and over again. Frustrated and irritated, I walked to the far side of the room, a

Liam said firmly, dialing the number. But before he could press call, the lights flickered again once, twice, then held steady. Lola’s gaze snapped toward the fallen mirror. The shards no longer reflected sunlight. Instead, they shimmered faintly, like water catching light beneath the surface. “Liam…” she whispered. “It’s happening again.” He dropped the phone and rushed to her side, grabbing her hand. “Stay with me. Don’t look.” But she couldn’t help it. Her eyes locked on the largest shard, and in that fractured glass she saw movement.
