"We can still save them," I said, rolling up my sleeves.
General Oliver looked at me like I'd risen from the grave again. "After everything, Bonnie... you're still willing to help us?"
"Yeah," I said simply. "It'll be easy."
I knelt next to the first soldier—barely older than me, with blood running in slow rivulets from his nose and the corners of his mouth. His breathing was ragged, his hands trembling.
"You," I said, locking eyes with him. "Stop squirming for a second. Give me your arm."
