“Feels good, doesn’t it?” Zander said beside me, his arm finally out of the sling. The scar on his shoulder was still pink and angry, but he was getting better every day.
“Yeah,” I replied, leaning into his side. “But it doesn’t bring Dad back.”
Zander kissed the top of my head. “Nothing will. But we finished what he started. That’s something.”
Brick walked up to us, grinning from war to ear. “Serpents are done. Most of their guys scattered or got picked up in the sweeps. Iron Wolves got full clearance from the feds. Clean slate, brothers.”
