She was on her back, scrabbling against the dirt, her screams curdling into the night.
“Pathetic,” I snarled through bared teeth. “You were nothing. Just a weak, pitiful human lucky enough to be bitten. Nothing more.”
Her eyes rolled, her body trembling under my blows. Blood pooled under her, steaming in the cold air.
