LOGINNessa was betrayed by her mate, who had cheated on her with a woman he always told her not to worry about. Nessa found Leon and Abby together. She decided to reject their mate bond. But Abby wasn't satisfied; she wanted to make Nessa suffer even more. Therefore, together with Kylie, Leon's mother, they poisoned Nessa and made her lose her wolf spirit. This angered Nessa, who decided to leave the pack and end up in Capital City, where she met a strange alpha. Sometimes he was very kind, sometimes he wanted to kill her.
View MoreAfter a long year of battle against the Golden Creek Pack, Leon finally returned with the other warriors, allowing Nessa to breathe in relief at the sight of her mate being well.
However, she noticed that there was something different about him. She didn’t understand what it was until one day…
There were sounds of voices coming from Leon’s room… There was no mistake about it.
Nessa’s heart was pounding painfully against her chest. Her intuition warned her not to go and check the source of these salacious sounds.
But her body didn’t listen.
She kept walking towards the bedroom, where the sound was getting louder and clearer. Their moans echoed softly against the wall, and through the small crack of the door, Nessa could see what they were doing.
Her heart shattered, and her world crumbled with the sight before her eyes. Leon was in a compromising position with Abby, the beta’s daughter, whom he said not to worry about since he thought of her as his ‘little sister.’
Well, that ‘little sister’ was riding his face right now.
They were engrossed in their act of betrayal, to the point that they didn’t realize someone else was watching their action. Their scent was very strong.
Nessa wanted to curse herself when she didn’t leave or confront them to save herself from the heartache; instead, she watched everything, unable to move.
Just like earlier, her body was not willing to cooperate. She felt her legs rooted in the same place.
How you could betray your mate was beyond her.
A mate for a shifter was for a lifetime; it was a blessing from the Moon Goddess, a sacred bond that you couldn’t take lightly.
The bond should have been strong enough to prevent such things from happening, but from the look of it, it didn’t stop Leon from being pleased by Abby.
“Nessa?”
It was Abby who noticed Nessa first. Her voice shattered the spell, throwing Nessa back to reality. She met Leon’s black eyes, and there was this mortified look in them.
Why would he be terrified when this was his wrongdoing?
“Nessa?” Leon immediately covered himself and pushed Abby away from him. He got off the bed and put on his boxers. “No, it is not what you think.”
Classic. Would he tell her they were only checking each other’s bodies and wish for Nessa to believe that?
However, before Leon could feed her with his bullshit, Nessa turned around and shifted into her beast and rushed away from the scene.
She ignored Leon’s plea for her to stop and Abby’s voice that asked him to stay and give Nessa some time to discern the whole situation.
The audacity of that woman was appalling.
Tonight, a festivity took place for the alpha’s victorious return after a long battle. Nessa left the party to look for Leon since he should be the star of tonight’s event.
The music was blasting that night, people were dancing; however, Nessa had just found something that turned her world upside down.
She rushed through the sound of people laughing and teasing, and their cheerful mood carried the image of the cruel thing her mate had done to her.
She ran away as fast as she could from Leon’s attempt to mind-link her; she shut her mind and kept going until it was quiet.
By the time Nessa stopped running and shifted back into her human form, she had already been deep into the forest, so close to crossing the border of her pack territory.
There was no going back from what she had witnessed.
“Why? Why?” Nessa stared at the darkness around her, but instead of fear, she felt this pain in her heart. It shattered through her body, and she wailed to the void, asking the question that she didn’t want to know the answer to. “Why did you do this to me!?”
Leon was the alpha of the Black Moon Pack; he just took the title from his father two days ago when he returned from the battlefield, while Abby was the former alpha’s beta’s daughter.
They had known each other since they were little; people thought they were mates when they came of age.
Yet, Nessa crushed their dream when she appeared as the alpha’s destined mate only a month before he left for the battlefield.
Many people disagreed with her as the future luna of the pack because she was only an omega, but Leon stood by her side. He defended her… until now.
How long had their affair been going on?
Nessa didn’t know. She didn’t want to think, and when her body was exhausted and she had no more tears to shed, her eyes closed.
She fell asleep on the dirty ground of this quiet forest while the merriment was still going on in the distance.

Leon had asked a few of his warriors to look for Nessa, but they couldn’t find her.
He still kept this under wraps because he didn’t want to alert other people. It wouldn’t look good if they figured out that the future luna of the pack had gone missing, especially when they started to dig around about the reason behind it.
“Calm down, Leon. She will return.” Abby tried to appease Leon’s anxiety. She stretched her hand to massage his shoulders, but he swatted her hands away.
“You’d better leave, Abby. Nessa will not be pleased to see you here.” Leon was very restless. He couldn’t sleep a wink, as he didn’t know what happened to his mate out there.
He had messed up big time. He needed to fix this.
“No, I am at fault here too.” Abby shook her head stubbornly when Leon chased her out again. “I also want to apologize to her.”
“This is not a good idea for you to talk to her.”
Abby disagreed with him. “Only a woman can understand a woman; I will tell her that everything was a mistake, and it was not as she saw it.”
Nessa was shocked when she watched today’s news. The glass of milk that she just made earlier fell from her hand, slipped from her fingers and the only thing that rang in her head was what the reporter said.Keagan was dead.It was said that the famous businessman, Keagan was found dead in his huge house this morning. The news said the cause of his dead was poisoned.Someone had poisoned him, but at the same time the other news mentioned the possibility that Keagan had ended his own life, because his condition when he was found was rather… unpleasant to see.The young businessman looked like he had starved himself for weeks.“No…” Nessa shook her head. She took a step back and then grimaced when the jagged piece of the broken glass stabbed her feet. “There is no way…”Nessa stared down at her bare feet and the blood that had covered the floor. She didn’t feel the pain from the cut, instead she felt the pain in her chest. Was it because of the severed mate bond? She couldn’t tell for s
What Tace said was right. Nessa had proven that you could live well enough without your wolf spirit. She was able to survive that, which meant, Keagan would as well.“Are you crazy?!” Lance was taken aback with the idea.“I have told you that the idea is crazy, but you don’t want to listen!” Tace groaned at the gamma, because he had warned him earlier, but he had insisted to listen to what he was saying.“Yeah, but this is insane! How can he be an alpha if he doesn’t have a wolf spirit?!” Lance shook his head. He grimaced. “How can Keagan be the alpha if he is not even a shifter?”It was one thing if they had a luna who had lost her wolf spirit, but it was different thing if it was the alpha. You wouldn’t be able to control the entire pack alone with loyalty.Once the enemy learned that the alpha of the pack couldn’t even shift into their own wolf, they would try to attack you, countless time… until they got what they wanted. And even if you could survive the first or the second attac
“What?” Lance blinked his eyes in disbelief. You are joking, right? Is that… a curse? Keagan had been cursed all this time?” He was incredulous. This was not what they expected. A curse?“Wait. How? How do you know about this?” Lance immediately approached Tace to demand an explanation from him. This didn’t make sense at all for him to say the least.“I got the precious information from the Vinica and Raya.”“How?”Vinica and Raya were the two omegas that Nessa had saved from the Black Moon pack and now they were part of the Howling wolf pack, but it didn’t make sense at all.Apparently, in his frustration, Tace came to Vinica and Raya. He asked a few questions casually about Nessa’s parents. And from that conversation, he figured out there was something not right. It was the fact that the previous alpha before Leon had a strange behavior.“I am sure. I am really sure that the strange behavior that they mentioned were the description of the shattered personalities. Just like Keagan.”
“This is not good,” Jack said. He shook his head in regret, as he watched the way Keagan was withering away. He spent most of his time in the attic. He didn’t do anything else, but staying there.Jack could come and go to bring his meal, since there was no longer a direct order not to come close to him, but it didn’t mean the alpha would eat that. And now Jack was stressful.Meanwhile, Lance was not allowed to follow where Nessa had gone and it had been a week since the last time he saw her.“He is going to kill himself if he keeps doing this,” Jack said in a stressful tone. He scratched his head in frustration and then looked at Lance with a disapproving look. “Do something.”“If there is something that I can do to help with the situation, I am going to do it.” Lance was also stressed out with the situation. Not only because he had to handle the matter with Keagan, but he also had to overlook the pack, since Tace had gone to Black Moon pack to gather more information about Nessa’s pa
“Oh, I think this is one of the warriors that Jack met.” Nessa pointed out one of the men in the picture. “Even though his hairstyle is different, I can recognize the mole near his eyes.”Keagan leaned over to see it and then took the tablet from Nessa’s hand. He made a phone call to his beta and t
Keagan crouched down and stared at her blood, which flowed from the wounds caused by the sharp shards of broken glass.Ignoring the fact that Nessa had not yet healed like a normal shifter, there was this vicious smirk on the corner of his lips. He liked the color and the smell of it.“Here. Drink t
“Do you think I am fine?” Nessa asked one of the warriors who escorted her to the restaurant on the highest floor of this building. She remembered his name was Dax.“You look fine,” Dax replied softly.Nessa bit her lip. “If I do something silly, please tell me.”Dax chuckled. “You are fine; you onl
“Don’t worry, I will take care of you. I will take care of you for the rest of your life. You don’t need to be afraid.” Leon looked at Nessa with sadness in his eyes, but this sight infuriated Nessa even more.Nessa saw red. Her anger fueled her with enough strength to push him away and scream in hi
