The detective glared sharply at him, the process of detaining him to the station was extremely difficult, since he was a high class celebrity. Leaning in, the detective raised his eyebrows, ready to fire his questions.
“Carter Bruce.” The detective wavered briefly, “where were you the day your fiancée disappeared?”
Carter crossed his arms, his gaze wandering about the room.
“I was out of the country,” he muttered.
The detective stood from his chair, moving close to Carter. The case had resulted to sleepless night—an unresolved and frustrating case. It was frustrating because there was no trace of the kidnapper—as though Raven had vanished into thin air. Or worse she was already dead.
