I noted, my voice thick with sleep.
“It’s ten-thirty,” she pointed out through the speaker.
“That is still emotionally early,” I complained, sitting up slightly.
Nicole barked out a laugh. “Okay, first of all, Knox is apparently the messiest biker alive.”
“Agreed,” I stated flatly.
“Second…” I heard movement on her end, probably her getting into her car. “Why was my father distracted during a fight because of you?”
“He wasn’t,” I insisted, my face burning.
