Near the corner, a floor-to-ceiling built-in shelf housed neat rows of hardbound storybooks and collectible models. A plush navy area rug sprawled across most of the floor, partially covered by scattered wooden train tracks and a few half-built marble runs. His bed was a massive four-poster, draped with an embroidered duvet featuring subtle superhero characters. A sleek desk sat against one wall with enough space for his art supplies to be laid out like a tiny architect’s studio. There was even a small modern reading nook by the window with velvet cushions and a smart lamp that adjusted the brightness automatically.

It was a bargain. I’m setting up an area in the lounge space by one of the arched windows as my reading nook. Dad has bought me a large fluffy, pale pink bean bag for the corner and Atlas has given me vouchers for Button’s shops on the hight street where I have my eye on a beautiful mahogany, square table. There’s a matching bookcase I want to get for all my books. Only, I do have a lot of books so I may need to put a bookcase or some shelving up in the bedroom too.

Bonnie immediately opened a couple of windows to let it air out. "It's the same layout as mine," she said as she placed the bags on the breakfast nook table. There was an old plaid couch near the door, opposite the little kitchen. In the narrow hallway was a small bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower. Next to that was a closet with an old washing machine. Behind a folding partition was an elevated platform big enough to fit a Queen-size bed. The mattress and pillows looked new. There was a little closet in the corner containing a hanging rack and tiny dresser. All more than enough for me.

As soon as we were inside, we walked down the hallway and made our way into the private library. "There's a cozy reading nook toward the far right side of this library. We can have our conversation there." She said, her tension palpable. Sensing her unease, I remained silent as we made our way to the reading nook she was talking about. "Woah." I whispered in astonishment as we arrived at the reading nook. The reading nook was nestled in the corner, surrounded by dark wood bookshelves. There was a central table and a plush cushioned couch, adorned with pillows and a blanket.

She turned, taking in the space. It was roughly the size of a typical bedroom. A toilet sat in one corner with a privacy partition that only went up so far. She had a sink along with a bunkbed. And that was it. But it wasn't her space that interested her. Lying on the bunkbed in the cell next to her was a young man with light brown skin and shoulder length black hair. "Buzz?" Lumen asked. He slowly turned his head from the comic book he was reading and looked at her.

Chapter 307: Nielsen Outdoors School Jackie watched as Scott surveyed the island cabin once again. She tried to see it through his eyes. The completed renovations came out better than anyone had imagined. The addition at the back blended seamlessly with the original structure, with four bunks on either side and a row of eight wood cupboards at the end which would serve as storage for the guests. Each bunk had a thin mattress and pillow, topped with a green plaid bedspread. Obviously, the clients would be bringing their own sleeping bags, but the effect was to render the beds uniform in appearance, bringing a warm, homey feel to the cabin.

It was late that night when Knuckles knocked on Nessie’s door. She opened the door and let him in. As the door closed behind him, he looked around the room next to his own. She had a queen-sized bed on the far side of the double room. Where the second bed would have been was a small sitting area with a charcoal black sofa and wooden rocking chair. There was also a wooden and glass table that held a Guinness and a Stephen King book. On the opposite wall was a smart TV that had BBC morning news streaming. Under that was a short bookcase that was probably six feet long. All three shelves were packed with books of all kinds.

My hands were shaking. Now this looked more right. The room was…me. Lilac walls with a subtle floral design that shimmered faintly in the light, soft cream bedding, and a walk-in closet so big I could’ve gotten lost in it. The dressing table had a marble top and gold handles, and there was even a reading nook by the window with a plush chair and a throw blanket folded over the arm. This wasn’t random. Mom.

Ducking, she pulled back the material and was surprised to see space inside, resembling a closet. Extra pillows and blankets were arranged on a shelf over a long rod that held a few wire hangers—plenty of space to hang her clothes while she was there. On one side of the bed sat a rickety cane chair with an embroidered pillow of a rabbit. On the other side of the bed, stood a simple side table that held a reading lamp and a small tin. Curious, she opened the tin, surprised to find a candle inside, and inhaled the pleasant evergreen scent.

"It converts into a toddler bed. It's sustainable wood. Greenguard Gold certified." "It's also the size of a boat," I pointed out. "It won't fit through the door." "We'll take the door off the hinges," he dismissed. "I like the sleek lines. It's modern." "I like the white one," I countered, pointing to a vintage-style iron crib. "It's classic. It looks like something out of a storybook." "It looks like a prison cell," Noah frowned. "Look at those bars. What if she gets her head stuck?"
