Novel & Cerita Buried In The Sky

The silence of the Trash Folder was not the quiet of a sleeping house; it was the suffocating stillness of an empty grave. I stood on the edge of a dune made of crushed silicon and shattered glass, looking out over a horizon that shouldn't have existed. The sky was a swirling, bruised violet—not the beautiful purple of the Nursery, but the color of a dying monitor. Long, jagged streaks of white light cut through the clouds like scars, representing every file the Aethelgard Corporation had ever dragged to the bin and forgotten.

New text bled into existence in the sky overhead, the letters not clean white this time but thick, dark, like someone had dipped a finger in blood and ink and drawn them by hand. CHOOSE: BURIAL OR BIRTH. ABANDON YOUR STORIES, OR CLAIM THEM. The words hung there, heavy as stone. My heart clenched. Burial. Birth. Abandon… Claim. The meanings slotted in with nasty ease. If I buried all this—if I closed the coffin, turned my back, accepted the stone’s half‑etched HERE LIES, and walked away—I’d be doing what I’d always done. Letting the game take the pieces of me I’d left on hard drives and in notebooks and used them how it wanted.

I stood at the edge of the abyss, my hands folded perfectly in front of me, a masterpiece of grief that refused to crack. The sky over the Vermon cemetery was the color of a bruised lung. It was a private burial, a quiet excision of a legacy that Michael Blackwood had tried so hard to build. There were no cameras here, no board members, only the hollowed-out survivors of a war that had no winners.

It was a waveform—a jagged, crimson line that pulsed across every monitor. "You believe you can turn our legacy into fertilizer?" The voice didn't come through the speakers; it vibrated through the hull itself. "The Archive does not sleep, Kael. It merely calculates the cost of your insolence. The girl is the prime variable. If I cannot harvest her, I will delete her." "Not today, Liam," Kael hissed, slamming his hand onto the manual thruster-slide. The Respiration surged. Below them, the spire of Haida Gwaii shrank into a tiny green dot. They were entering the Grave-Sky, the layer of atmosphere where millions of tons of dormant Sterling metal hung like a ceiling of knives.

Snow covered the whole world in cold white. I laughed, and tears fell with the laughter. But Joanna, I would not live to see three months from now. I was going to die in this winter.

They may not like me, but at least when they're near, other students can't kill me. Ahead of me, Rowan, Seyla, and Lyra, all link arms as they giggle in excitement. I slow my pace slightly to keep a distance. I don't want my sour mood to bring down theirs. I glance up at the night sky, and I gasp. I stop walking altogether as I take in the millions of stars lighting the sky. I almost forgot how beautiful the night sky is.

It didn't rain on the day of my burial. There was no bleak rain or gloomy clouds like in the movies. On the contrary, the sun was out, and the weather was ridiculously good. The sunlight was almost blinding, and the sky was so blue and cloudless that it looked like a flawless crystal. I wasn't buried in some desolate back of the hill. Instead, Dad had used all of his connections to get me buried at the prettiest spot in the city's most expensive private cemetery.

Cerise thinks, Desperate to see her only star among the red, dark sky. The morning comes, and the sky remains blood-colored. Joy-I weeps like a child, far from the mature image she always puts on. Yzander and the doctor stood at the corner, as suspicious as ever. Halo and Nicholas struggle to keep sleeping, as the murmurs and crying stop them from doing so.

The silence that followed was almost reverent. Kira added one more thing. “There’s a site. Not on any old map. A deep-archive artifact buried in the Event Trench. Coordinates are embedded in the signal, but only if you know how to listen for them.” Callum sighed. “And you already decoded them, didn’t you?” She grinned. “Pack warm. You’re heading below sea level.” The trench was a scar on the world. A place where tectonic memory curled into itself, hiding things no satellite dared stare at for long. The descent took hours. Layers of pressure closed around us like fists. Lights flickered. Hull integrity held, barely.

“Hope worth it. Goodbye.” Snapped silent. Sky *burst*—blinding blaze. *** Blinding Blaze ***** The secret is yet to be revealed so I believe you should continue reading the novel with how anxious will reveal the secret I strongly believe.. *** Sky burst..
