The Rejected Blood Moon
The Heartfire still burned at its center,
and within it,
she sometimes saw shapes —
Lyra’s laughter,
Kaenor’s gaze,
the shadow of Arianne singing by the river.
They never spoke aloud,
but she felt them watching.
Guiding.
She would sit by the flame for hours,
writing softly in an old book —
her memories, her doubts, her hopes.
On the cover, she carved one word:
Remembrance.
That book would later become the first text
of the new world —
not a scripture,
but a conversation.
