MARINA I ducked as my mother threw her plastic bowl at me. It missed my head by a few inches. Milk and cheerios splattered all over the wall and the floor. Great…I was already running behind and now, I’ll definitely be late for my first day. I share a dingy little house with my mother Leslie, in this small town in Massachusetts. I’ve always dreamed of moving out and finding my own place, but I didn’t have the heart to leave my mother behind. At least, not yet.

I was welcomed by a gushing wind of extraordinary aura from the centre of the room where Dorothy sat legs-crossed — wings outstretched behind her — and her eyes shut. Still baffled by the sight, I slipped in. The aura kept on spinning around her, making her seemingly barricaded from the rest of the world. I quickly cast my eyes around her room and filled them with warmness. Looking back at her, my eyes then caught sight of a big book with the word, “Butterflies”, and a smaller book that said, “Fairies”. Something inside me wanted me to rush right down to it and grab it, still, all I could do was keep watching from where I stood.

With every flap of its wings, a sweet aroma as well as tiny green flower petals fell off its wings. There were six smaller similar looking butterflies flying around the massive one. These were around 50 meters tall, all of different colors, white, red, pink, green, black and light blue. Milton stood to his feet and observed the butterflies with interest, he realised that all six of these, all of different affinities.
