The House of Moses is full of soldiers and the councilors are old and useless. Asher is strong but he won’t be able to fight my men on his own. As for you… you were already dead the moment you followed me into this room.” Much to my annoyance, Cora didn’t seem affected by my words at all. She didn’t look scared or even nervous. Instead, she continued to stare into my eyes and regarded me as if I were some poor, pathetic little thing.

She would also use her position as his mate and Alpha to gain more power within the pack, to further her own plans for revenge. Cora's mind raced with ideas and strategies. She knew that she needed to be careful and not reveal her true intentions to anyone, including Jordan. She would carefully play her cards, using her intelligence, cunning, and determination to achieve her goals. She would use her influence over Jordan to gain favor with the pack members, build alliances, and strengthen her position as a formidable force within the pack.She had decided to make use of the opportunity more , thinking of how and what to do to fasten her strength and power .

I towered over her, I had to be at least almost a foot taller than her. Then when Matt showed up, I pieced two and two together. The daughter of Charlotte Solace that was killed five or so years ago. The daughter of Matt that nobody had seen in the last 4 years since he got his second chance mate, who apparently has done something so vile to Tessa, when he takes over completely as Alpha, Tara and Marissa will be gone. She wouldn't look me in the eyes, she was afraid, the fact she ran into somebody. Matt whispered to her and that's when she looked up at me. Her blue eyes locked on with mine.

She says smoothly, biting her finger. Malachi darts his eyes from me to Cora. "I'm standing right here! Can you stop talking about me," He frowns. "Who the hell are you?" He demands giving her a death stare. Cora seems taken back and annoyed when Malachi shows no interest in her. "I'm Cora, as I already told your friend here. I am looking for someone you may know. His name is Cypress," She announces, looking at both of us. "Why are you looking for Cypress?" I question, narrowing my eyes. "Let's just say he owes me a favor," She vaguely says.

It was her. “Who are you?” Someone called out. I turned because I wanted to know as well. Rowan’s eyes were pleading with me to understand as she wrapped her hand in his. A giant ring shone on her finger. And I knew…in that moment I knew the truth, and I looked away. “I’m Verity La’Shen.” Rowan looked ashamed as she said the next words. “I’m the future Queen, Rowan’s fiancee.” Fiancee. I snapped my eyes to Rowan, and I watched the life drain out of his.

She claimed that over the years, she had changed and wanted to turn over a new leaf. I didn't bother replying. Just deleted the message and blocked her number. Not long after, a relative from my hometown sent me a surveillance video. It turned out, once Fiona got out, she arranged to meet with all of us—me, Mom, and Dad. She hadn't changed. She wanted revenge. I never showed up, but my parents did. She met them separately. Each time, she waited until traffic was heavy, the roads crowded with speeding trucks.
