Came a voice from behind her. "Why should he beg a liar and con artist like you?" Zaria questioned, striding toward Cora. Her rage was visible and she wanted so badly to pounce on Cora. "What gave you the right to come back to a pack you were once banished from? Are you that desperate?" "When adults are talking, a baby should learn to hold their tongue. You better hold whatever this is because I am on the verge of losing it." Cora seethed, referring to Zaria as a thing which even pissed her the more.

She beamed, showing the brace in her teeth. "Who are we killing?" She asked whilst grinning. "I need you to recite the spell for the doorway sealing thingy, and we are not killing her," Kyle said pointing at me. Cora seemed like she wanted to argue until Kyle added, "J.J's order." The name almost made me hurl but I had to hold myself together. I looked to where Renee was sprawled and wondered if she was breathing at all. I attempted to go check up on her, but Cora stopped me.

" Lucy felt a chill go down her spine at those words. She absolutely understood Cora's intentions. Stopping Amelia wasn't the only goal; the other was making sure she wins back the heart of Alex. Lucy reassured her, "I'll handle it," trying to hide her own anxiety. "Amelia won't know what hit her." As Lucy ended the call, she felt a surge of adrenaline mixed with dread. She was stepping into dangerous territory, but she knew she had no choice. Loyalty to Cora meant everything, and failure was not an option. Cora, meanwhile, sat back in her leather chair, her fingers interlaced in deep thought as she contemplated the next move.

“We’re already working on it.” He didn’t notice the way my fingers brushed the hidden pocket of my coat. He didn’t notice the vial. He didn’t notice the way the past was about to repeat itself. All he saw was the future he believed he deserved — the one I’d convinced him was stolen from him. And all I saw was the path clearing. Ciara O’Connell had survived too much already. She wouldn’t survive this. Cormac was still pacing, muttering under his breath about Declan, about Ciara, about everything he believed had been stolen from him. I let him rant for a moment — it always made him easier to steer.

I towered over her, I had to be at least almost a foot taller than her. Then when Matt showed up, I pieced two and two together. The daughter of Charlotte Solace that was killed five or so years ago. The daughter of Matt that nobody had seen in the last 4 years since he got his second chance mate, who apparently has done something so vile to Tessa, when he takes over completely as Alpha, Tara and Marissa will be gone. She wouldn't look me in the eyes, she was afraid, the fact she ran into somebody. Matt whispered to her and that's when she looked up at me. Her blue eyes locked on with mine.

He always uses a golden glove to hide it. "What do we do father?.." I asked. "Her blood can make the king immortal." Harrod answers. "Who?." "King Gerald's daughter." Father replies. "So?." "Get me her blood or I'll take away your right as the prince!." Father says with a serious look. I sigh and nod affirmatively. "No worries. Where is she?." I speak through gritted teeth. It was her. “Who are you?” Someone called out. I turned because I wanted to know as well. Rowan’s eyes were pleading with me to understand as she wrapped her hand in his. A giant ring shone on her finger. And I knew…in that moment I knew the truth, and I looked away. “I’m Verity La’Shen.” Rowan looked ashamed as she said the next words. “I’m the future Queen, Rowan’s fiancee.” Fiancee. I snapped my eyes to Rowan, and I watched the life drain out of his.

She claimed that over the years, she had changed and wanted to turn over a new leaf. I didn't bother replying. Just deleted the message and blocked her number. Not long after, a relative from my hometown sent me a surveillance video. It turned out, once Fiona got out, she arranged to meet with all of us—me, Mom, and Dad. She hadn't changed. She wanted revenge. I never showed up, but my parents did. She met them separately. Each time, she waited until traffic was heavy, the roads crowded with speeding trucks. Then, with a calculated push, she sent them into the chaos.
