Something shifted violently across Kael's face, the calm draining away, replaced by something dark and furious. His voice dropped low, almost a growl. "I am Alpha Kael. The first among my kind, and the mightiest of them all. I do not fall in love with anyone. I will not fall for love under any circumstance, and I shall never fall in love! Remember that, and find your peace in it." He clapped Lucas once on the shoulder, and walked away without another word.

He after quietly, his scent quickly filling the room, he smell nice but there was something dangerous attached to it. "What's your name?" Kael asked with a smile, Rhea some what knew she was going to be more comfortable with the brown haired guy, he looked nice. "Rhea." Rhea said shortly. "You guys aren't humans." She added almost immediately. "How can you tell?" Kael asked. "I feel it, a powerful aura emanating from you both." Rhea said. "You're right, we are werewolves, I'm kael a beta and this is Kieran, he's the Alpha of our pack." Kael said, Rhea looked at Kieran, his name sounding oddly familiar.

These two knew how to work together, and even though they're different in a lot of ways, both of them put in work to their relationship, I love them both for that. "Have you been able to reject going to that naked bathing," Caleb asked as he turned towards me on the bed where I sat. "No!" I sharply answered as though I'd been waiting for him to remember I was here and talk to me, and maybe I'd been waiting. "Well, you have to find a way Kayla, for all we know, this might yet be another ploy for you, for me, for the whole of Crescent pack, and we don't wanna walk right into a trap," Caleb explained and I just nodded affirmatively, I didn't need to be told this was a trap, I knew that already.

“Impossible…” Kael’s voice came out distorted, layered with something ancient. “You’ve fought Alphas. But never me.” Lightning flared overhead. For a split second, Khaenat saw something in Kael’s burning eyes — not just fury, but the ghost of something divine. Kael lunged again, ramming him through a shattered wall. The impact sent both tumbling into the dirt, a blur of claws, fangs, and snarling chaos. Every strike shook the ruins apart.

His wolf—Kaelen—had been restless for days, prowling the edges of Lefu’s mind with sharp impatience. “I am not a coward,” Lefu muttered aloud, though there was no one in the room but himself. His fingers moved fast as he dialed, rage rolling off him in waves. I watched him, my heart pounding not with fear but with satisfaction. Everything was unfolding exactly as my wolf had foreseen. “I know.” “But I’m not running anymore.” The wolf in him growled, quiet and satisfied. Kael lowered his forehead to hers. “Then I’ll stay. Here. At the edge of you. Until you’re ready.” They stood like that for a long moment. Not lovers. Not enemies. Something in between. Later, Kael stood alone in the war room, fists braced on the stone table. Xander entered, expression unreadable. “The eastern patrols found another rogue camp. Small. Sloppy. Abandoned in a hurry.”

But I left. Fast. And the moment the door shut behind me, the façade cracked. My breaths came shallow, and my fingers trembled. Stronger than me. Stronger than any wolf I had ever touched.
