Avery's POV "Get Elise in here." I kept my voice level. "Now." The assistant hurried out before I finished speaking. I flipped the tablet over and read the email again, hoping the words had changed. They hadn’t. Elise burst through the door moments later. She took one look at my face, then snatched the tablet from my hand. She scanned it fast, her jaw tightened immediately. "Shit." She slammed it on the desk. "That's our entire production backbone."

Ravien's POV The traffic light was on red, so I had to stop the car. I picked up the document on the tablet that rested on my laps, reading the name for the third time: Elise Anderson, the event Planner. "James," I called out to my assistant through the car's Bluetooth. "Send me everything you have on this Elise Anderson, the event planner for the charity gala." "Right away, sir." He responded from the other end.

The menu dropped to the ground and Elise lunged forward. “EVIE!”

As Reiner turned back to the wardrobe to grab additional accessories, Elise seized the chance to leave the room hastily, her face flushed and her heart pounding in her chest.

Leni I watched quietly as Elise paced around the room, I knew she was itching to say something out of pocket and truthfully I was scared but her repeated movement was driving me bunkers. “What is it, Elise?” My voice was low, already bracing for the insanity she’d been pacing into existence. She stopped mid-step, turning to face me with a determination that made my stomach recoil. “I want to work for Papa.” My heart stuttered. One. Two. Three beats of silence stretch between us.

While Elise watched him from where she stood, arranging the sheets. Her eyes were sunken like she had been crying throughout the night, but there were no tears to prove it. And her face was the most neutral and composed. “Alejandro.” She said suddenly, startling him. “Yes, Lily?” Elise drew her lips together and muttered. “I am ready.” Alejandro frowned, then took a step closer to her. “Ready for what?” Elise’s lips trembled once before she forced them still. “For the procedure.” For a moment, Alejandro simply stood there.
