We danced and laughed, the snacks disappearing as quickly as they appeared. I caught a glimpse of the guys in their costumes; Adam and I made quite the superhero couple, while Shawn’s Peter Pan getup had us all chuckling. Kelvin’s ‘player’ costume, with his leather pants and a tie, was nothing short of hilarious, and Curt’s sexy vampire look had all the girls swooning. The night blurred into a whirlwind of laughter, dancing, and singing. We posed for pictures, capturing every ridiculous moment. I felt so grateful to be surrounded by friends, each of us playing our part in creating a night to remember.

I doubt Princess Hana will have such luck. I took a breath and tugged on the fitted red fabric of my red Camp Okwaho’kenha counselor shirt that had the camp logo on the chest with the word ‘Counselor” on the back across my shoulders. Every cabin was assigned a color, and the counselors in charge wore a shirt to match so campers knew whom to look for if they needed help.

Just… something real. It was that smile that followed her all the way back to camp. By sundown, the camp began to change. Lanterns were strung between trees. Someone lit the large central fire, and a drumbeat pulsed low through the air. Rogues emerged wearing scraps of color stitched to their usual leathers. Children painted moons on their cheeks. The elders brought out a barrel of blackberry mead that was instantly surrounded.

We walked by women by large fire places, cooking in giant pots in groups and also past children playing. The boys from about age seven to early teenage were practicing the use of weapons with some of the rogue warriors, while the girls were cooking in smaller pots not very far from the older women—I believe was also training for them. Even in their comfort zone, every single one of them was wearing the same mask. Right in the middle of camp was a tent that was bigger and slightly more sophisticated. It was coated all round with a trampoline and I assumed that would be the only safe place in the case of a storm. There were two wolf guards at the entrance.

I went with silver and purple shades and instead of a royal cloak, I chose more of a traditional costume. It was a half-pleated cashmere kilt wound around the lower half of the body with a pleated section drawn to the front. The material was soft and flowed against my skin. For my shoulders and arms, I chose white fur. While a broad silver belt with our pack’s symbol engraved on it was to hold my costume together. The chest was to remain bare except for a large silver amulet. For my feet, I chose a pair of silver ankle-length sandals. My hair were perfectly braided with silver and purple ribbons to complete the look.

“Yes… use me… I’m your wasteland cumdump… fill me until I break…” The main camp came into view, a sprawling settlement of reinforced bunkers, rusted vehicles turned into shelters, barbed wire fences, and multiple flickering fires. Hundreds of “survivors”— all powerful members of the Midnight Club in their post-apocalyptic costumes, turned to watch as I was paraded through the center like a captured prize. Kane threw me into the middle of the largest breeding pit, a deep, sand-filled arena surrounded by cheering men and a few dominant women. The ground was already stained from previous days of use.

Cedric hadn’t been pack pioneer for this long without knowing what he was doing. As they neared, Marc’s eyebrow rose at their wannabe rancher gatherings: button-down shirts with rolled up sleeves, well-worn pants, cowpoke boots, and huge brimmed caps thrown down moo on their temples. He half anticipated to listen clattering goads and see stalks of roughage staying out from between their teeth, and was nearly baffled when he didn’t. He couldn’t very keep the grin from his confront as he pondered if they all assembled circular the campfire each night and arranged what they were going to wear the following morning so they would all match.

I commented. “Okay, good. Follow me.” Fritz led me further back, holding my hand as we strode the dark alleys. After a few twists and turns, we reached the camp where the performers for tonight are waiting. The musical instruments and some costumes are scattered within the area. Most of them were asleep, probably preparing themselves for the main event tonight. Fritz and I sneaked into one of the tents and knocked out a dancer and one of the music men before dragging them to the woods to tie them up. Once we are done securing them, we went back to the camp dressed as the performers we took the identity of. The veil on the headdress of their costumes helped us with our imposture.

Kasa replied. Kurt eyed her. "Catori Dolphus why are you dressed as if it's a funeral?" he asked. "We're going to find those Reaper peeps, not sprinkle flowers at somebody's grave. You look like this guy at this poi..." He yelped in pain. Kasa stepped on his foot. Kasa and Kurt were dressed in all grey. Liam was the only one who was completely dressed in black, like her. "Are you all set to go?" Liam asked them.
