Liam says as they leave the room and sit at the table, eating a hot rice bean and sweet corn dessert with sweet pork. Derick screams with delight, "I adore the hot steams coming out of the meal!" Pearl passed me the rice she'd been washing by the sink, and I scooped it into a pot of sauce that had been simmering for the past seven minutes on low heat. Pearl stayed by the corner and coughed, and I chuckled. "Wow, I haven't tried this meal, and the spice is already killing me." I chuckled again. "You'll love it. It reminds me of home," I mused. "Really?" she asked, and I nodded. "I make this at home at least once a week. Jollof rice is the most comforting food in the world," I said with a smile. "Well, I can't wait to try it. I asked, excitedly as I myself have never been there but have heard a lot of stories about the continent.

And that’s how I found myself sandwiched between the two of them, sleeves rolled, onions diced, peppers flying. “I call the stir-fry!” Petra grinned, taking the pan like it was a weapon in a culinary battle. “I’m making the jollof rice,” Mrs. Jocelyn huffed. “With proper spice this time.” “You mean with salt and not sugar?” Petra laughed.

“Thank you.” There was a brief pause as she looked around the building. “So,” he cleared his throat slightly, “after this… would you want to grab something to eat? Catch up properly?” She tilted her head. “I’m not saying no to food.” “That’s promising.” “What do you have in mind?” “There’s this spot that does African dishes. Nigerian jollof is my favorite. It can be spicy, but I promise you’ll love it.” She smiled. “I’ve never had Nigerian jollof before, or any African meal at all.”
