“A promise.” Martha’s eyes shimmered with unshed tears. “It was left with you the night you came to me.” Ivy’s hands trembled as she untied the ribbon. Inside lay the ivory blanket embroidered with a silver crescent moon. Beneath it rested a crystal pendant that glowed with soft silver light. The moment Ivy lifted it… A blinding flash erupted from the crystal. Images flooded her mind. A palace of crystal. A woman with silver eyes laughing as she held a baby.

THIRD POV The night is beautiful and a little bit windy. People are move to and fro, the different forms of lights are igniting the entire city. Ivy got off a black car, parked by the road. She is on a black hoodie, black face cap, dark shades, blue jeans and black sneakers. The car drove off, leaving her standing by the road with her two hands in her pocket. She looked ahead and across the road. Her eyes rested on a huge hospital building, with the name, MADONNA PEACE TEACHING HOSPITAL written at the top of the building.

"Ivy, tell me the truth, why am I the one you have called here instead of your parents or brother? It's so tiring having to carry your stuff here back and forth! But then, I still have to help you unpack and arrange them? Tell me, do you have any recent grudge against me?" It was as if a painter dipped his brush into a bucket of different paint and threw it onto a canvas. A burst of colour. That’s what I saw when I looked at her eyes. It hit me like an impact force. I blinked, irritated at myself for staring too long. Irritated at her too. In fact I was irritated at this whole damn situation. “And who the hell are you?" I snapped.
