Pucking the Captain
Silas didn’t just tap gloves; he lingered, leaning in close so his face was inches from Jules’s, his eyes raking over Jules with a look of pure, disgust.
I stopped skating, turning around just as Silas’s mouth moved, his voice carrying just enough over the roar of the crowd for my hyper-aware brain to catch the words.
"Watch your back, fairy," Silas sneered, his voice dripping with venom. "Heard you’re the captain’s little pet now. Hope he doesn’t break you before I get a turn."
The world just stopped. The noise of the arena faded into a dull, buzzing static, and a blinding, white-hot rage exploded behind my eyes so violently that my vision actually tunneled.
