It was nice to actually get to know her mother better and despite her heart being torn to shreds, by the time the two weeks were nearly up, Cassie actually began to believe that there was hope for her. On the Friday before Cassie was set to fly back to Melbourne, she was out at a cafe drinking coffee and reading a book. It was one of the things that she’d discovered that she loved to do, especially in the warm sunshine of the Sunshine Coast weather. Being winter, the mornings were crisp, but the days were sunny and perfect. “Oh my God! Cassie!” Cassie looked up to see Two and Three standing at her table. “Oh, hey,” she said really wishing she could remember their names.

And now she wasn't going to forget about it for decades. “Approximately three years ago, Cassidy and I met at a bookstore,” Desmond began. “She dropped some books, and I helped her pick them up. That’s how we started talking, and our love for books connected us. We have been briefly in touch since then. Our interactions grew scarce over the past year, but I am glad we’re having dinner here today.” “Cass!” Mom turned toward me. “You knew a demonologist, yet you didn’t say anything when we needed him the most when your father was ailing.”

One quiet afternoon, Cass was busy arranging her new books inside the small hanging cabinet on the wall. Liam had built that little cabinet for her with his own two hands using leftover wood. She had begged him for weeks to make her a bookshelf and buy her some books so she wouldn't die of boredom inside the house. It had been a long time since her audition, and the modeling agency still hadn't called her back. She was starting to lose hope, and reading was the only thing keeping her sane.

Tears surged from the corners of her eyes. "Edward...." She whimpered. Edward was her little brother. It was years back. She was just seven years old at that time, and Edward was just four. As they sat in the drizzle, licking their popsicles, he had blurted. "Cassie, can I have yours?" Cassie turned to him. "No! You have yours." She said. "Please..." Edward pleaded, his eyes were spherical and big, making him look like a compelling cute tiny pup. Cassie felt weak instantly. She could never say no to him. Not when he looked like that.

I wanted people of my own and to be normal enough to actually accomplish that. “Cassie Turner. She’s in the same lectures as me at uni.” It wasn’t like there was anything in my description that could convince him that Cassie was safe. There just wasn’t anything I could say, the truth was that even if I knew everything about Cassie, he wouldn’t be convinced, anyway.

Cassie asks. They go over to the bookcases, and they all started looking for books that could have something on the relic but there was just a slight mention of it or a paragraph. But no pictures or anything that matches anything in the publications. Cassie goes back over to the bookcase and notices a book up high. She grabs the ladder and goes up it to get the book. "Cassie Be careful, you could fall." Nathan said going over to her helping her down. "Let me look in this book," Cassie said.

I hope… Cassie - After spending the day with Daisy and Jason I am exhausted, that girl can talk! I learnt a lot about her and the other top ranking members of the pack, they are all the best of friends and it is a little overwhelming as based on what she was saying I think she expects me to be a part of their group. But I will worry about that later, Daisy left me a couple of books and though one or two of them look interesting I am far too tired to read. I lay down on the cot, which is now covered in so many cushions I might as well be floating, and wishing I could have showered I drift into a dreamless sleep.

“I found something.” My heart paused for a beat. She walked inside and returned with a small leather-bound journal. “It’s Eleanor’s, hidden inside her luggage. I didn’t know she kept one.” The edges were frayed, the ink faded, but when she opened it, her fingers trembled with reverence. I sat beside her, reading over her shoulder. Her mother’s words were raw and honest about Edward, about fear, about protecting Cassie. But more than anything… about hope. “She wrote this the week after I turned eighteen,” Cassie whispered. “She said she dreamed I’d never have to choose between love and survival. That one day, I’d learn I was allowed to have both.”

They didn't go shopping for a swimsuit, but they did go back to Cassie's apartment and grabbed her books, clothes, and swimsuits, yep she snatched her one piece and a pair of sexy bikinis for daytime wear, perfect for study break she thought earlier. Cassidy grinned at Rowan and typed her assignment faster, she was almost done, just a couple of summaries left then she could take a break before continuing to another subject. She didn't think she'd complete the work this fast, yet she amazes herself when she did. This was the first time Cassidy had been pumped in doing her work, and somehow when she squinted and worked her brain harder she made it, she understood and easily finishes her work b
