When he saw Lucio and his entourage enter, he barely lifted his eyelids, his gaze dripping with amusement, like a man watching insects crawl.
They stared, eyes darting between me and Massimo. Lucio took a deep breath, forcing himself forward a step.
"Mr. Della Vera," his voice was dry and taut, "about the partnership. We hope we can renegotiate."
Massimo gave a short laugh. He didn't even look at Lucio, instead turning to me. "Baby, you decide."
Every gaze in the room landed on me.
Lucio snapped his head toward me, his expression almost pleading.
