Eli's knuckles were white where he clenched them, his face taut with tension and worry. I couldn't hold back a cold laugh. "You'll find out what I mean to do, Eli. Just not yet, because not everyone's here!" He froze. The next second, Karina's shrill scream tore through the dead-still hall below. "Father! Where are you! Get up here! This bitch Layla is waving a gun around in front of everyone. She's got no respect for our family at all!" The moment her cry died away, I smiled. "Have you lost your mind?"

"Sharon Johnson. Wife to Dayo Johnson." The stranger said in a painfully seductive low tone. Sharon shivered in fear walking backwards, almost falling over the chairs in the open kitchen island. The stranger ran her fist forward so fast, it was almost invisible. Flickering lights was all Sharon could see before she closed her eyes and crashed to the ground.

"The Cunninghams have terrible taste can't we just kill her I wanna see if her blood is pretty." he said pointing his knife at my throat. I grabbed his knife and kicked him down to the floor, I quickly got up and tossed the knife as they dodged I was almost out until I heard a gunshot. I turned to see a smirk on the strangers face. "Take another step and I'll shoot you, I've never missed." he said while I wore a frown.

But neither of them wanted it. They lay facing each other, close enough to feel the heat radiating from the other’s skin. Maya curled her hand beneath her cheek and stared at him. Elias lay on his side, one arm under his pillow, the other resting across the space between them, not quite touching. There were things she could say. Questions she could ask.
