Jake stumbled backward like the coward he was, nearly tripping over his own feet. Satisfied, Mac turned back to me and offered his hand again. I took it, somehow managing not to faint on the spot. That should’ve been the end of the drama. But no. Cindy wasn’t done being Cindy. She opened her mouth to launch another verbal grenade, and then she froze. Her eyes locked onto one of Mac’s elite guards, a tall, broad-shouldered Lycan with storm-gray eyes. The color drained from her face like someone had unplugged her soul. Aha! Mate bond!

Elijah stated as Cat nodded. “I like to believe with existing data Alpha Elijah, not rumors and personal feelings. They can only get you this far.” Cat said as she approached Elijah. “If you plan to win this battle, I suggest you drop all ties until we can successful save the earth first... King Elijah.” Cat whispered. “Let us go Alpha Selene.” Cat said as she dragged Selene by the back of her collar. “I’ll see you later boys.” Selene said with a jolly smile as Elijah raised a brow.

Rori looked on in terror as Mina’s eyes began to glow purple, but as she glanced at Kristi, her friend looked like she was in pain. “Leave them alone Mina!” Rori roared and almost as if her anger fueled the flits they appeared to grow in size and intensity. Murdok roared at the top of his lungs and let a large plume of fire escape his throat, attempting to lure the small fire creatures away from the suffering boy, but as the inferno burst free the flames seemed to move on their own and began to swirl around Rori’s body. The flits immediately dropped Mason and swarmed Rori, they buzzed and flew in blurred streaks around her, creating virtually a funnel cloud of flame and heat.
