Usha tapped his tail slowly while looking at the window while Carrola was leaning on his seat and watching the little cat’s behavior.

Riley muttered, folding her arms. Suddenly, Armani stepped forward. “Today, my brothers and I will be sending some Wild Cats on a mission,” he announced. Riley’s eyes lit up as she listened closely. “This mission isn’t particularly difficult,” Armani continued. “So the Wild Cats selected will be those ranked from the bottom—numbers one hundred to ninety.” Riley smiled. “I’m ranked one hundred,” she said a little too loudly. “So I’ll be going.” The hall went silent. Everyone turned to stare at her—most of them glaring, confused by her obvious excitement.

“You two know you’re not supposed to be out here without telling anyone.” Talia poked her head out from behind a tree. She was almost too cute for me to be upset with “We were hiding.” “In plain sight,” I muttered, walking up to them. “What are you doing out here anyway?” Kael was crouched by a tree, staring in awe at a little caterpillar like it held the secrets of the universe. “There was a butterfly,” he murmured. “We followed it.” I shook my head but couldn’t help the small smile tugging at my lips. “Next time, at least tell me first.
