I feel like everyone can hear me snacking on my Cheetos. When we finally get to the Blood Moon Pack, the guards greet us and let us through. We pull up to a beautiful house that reminds me a lot of the one I grew up in. An elderly lady comes to meet us. “You look like a frail bird.” She gives me a big hug and tells me. “Don’t you worry, I will nurse you back to health, young one. My name is Katrina, but you can call me Kat. I used to work at the hospital as a doctor. I recently retired. Oh, and this must be Amanda” She reaches out and gives Amanda a big hug.

Rose- “You stupid bitch,” I spat viciously at Kat. “Me? The only bitch I see here is you. And for what? Mate hasn’t done a single thing to us to deserve your indifference,” she barked back at me, barring her teeth like it was supposed to scare me or something. I asked Katie, I couldn't even remember the name of the animal and she was one of the generation after the nuclear disaster. "We learned it in school," she says happily, they teach them about animals, the name must have stuck in with her. "I need to do a quick call, don't rough your cat," I say not sure that it's a cat anymore. "Hello," the same person answered on the internal call. "I asked for a cat, got a fucking tiger," I whisper yell on the phone. "You asked for a kitten, my boss said to give you that one," he says. "Is your boss just as insane as you?" I ask him.

The woman seemed confused by his silence, even dumfounded for a while until she said, "My name is Katrina by the way and no you can't call me Kat." Her words amused Tanner, like what type of introduction was that. He knew it was probably because many people tried to call her Kat and she did not like the name, but it suited her, she reminded him of the feline animal, with her graceful walk and her sharp confidence, something that he sorely lacked. "But I like the name Kat, it suits you. I think that is what I will call you," he joked and she looked appalled by the suggestion, it was almost comical.

Kaylee drew her head back, giving her the 'quit pulling my leg look. “What?” Lana asked. “You don't know?” “Know what?” “You really didn't know?” "Oh, Kaylee, stop killing the poor girl with anxiety,” Katida's weak voice scolded. “Katida?” Both rushed to her side. “Are you okay?” Lana asked. A sleek black car swiveled to a stop in front of a gigantic baroque building that serves as the pack house. Kat came down from the car, slamming the door close and walked briskly towards the entrance. She had spent the last two days at the orphanage near the pack’s border, pretending to care for the children there. Most of them were omegas, and she raised them to serve her purpose. But now only two remain, not enough for the operation she had in mind.

AJ Kat’s lips finally curled up into a smile. The initial shock of the mansion seemed to be fading a bit and it seemed like she was ready to relax and enjoy herself. “Okay,” she said. “But close your eyes.” AJ looked at her like she was crazy. “I’ve seen you naked before, you know?” “I know!” Kat squealed. “Still, just close your eyes. And you better be getting naked, because I’m not going to be the only one going in there without a swimsuit.”

“Like what? I was just taking a catnap.” The pun wasn’t lost on me. “Har, har. You really should learn to keep the cat puns to a minimum.” “That would be a cat-tastrophe. I don’t know how I could ever go on.” His snickers resonated through the phone. “I don’t know if I should dislike you more or respect your tenacious side. But either way, I come bearing news.” On his side, I heard shifting and papers shuffling. “What is it?” “It’s about the little one, Kataya.”
