Nothing, no scent, no sound, no sign that anyone had entered. A shaky breath escaped my lips as I clutched my pounding head. I staggered to my feet, guided only by the pale moonlight spilling through the window. My body felt like lead, weak, empty, and starving, my throat burned with dryness. I stumbled into the kitchen and drank water. I set the cup down, and that’s when it happened. A sharp, agonizing crack split through my bones, my knees buckled. No. Not again. I screamed as the shift overtook me, my bones twisting, reshaping, skin tearing. The black wolf emerged, ruthless and wild, trapping my soul behind its eyes.

I did everything to be a good friend, only to be treated as my so-called best friend’s scapegoat. When her husband found cigarette ash in their house, she claimed I was the one smoking. When she snuck off for a private rendezvous with her lover, she told him she was celebrating my birthday. And when she got pregnant, she pinned the blame on me again, declaring I was consumed with jealousy—that I had spiked her drink and hired someone to violate her. Enraged, her husband marched to my doorstep wielding a blade and hacked me to death. When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the exact day she had asked me to cover for her affair.

He smiles as he says, “Well, well, ladies. It’s nice to have you.” I hear one of the girls giggle behind me, causing him to smirk. He is handsome, but I don't know how you could giggle at him during a time like this. The man that had been holding our leashes hands them over to the well-dressed man and says, “Pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Black.” He nods as the man walks away, leaving us with him. His eyes roam over us and he states, “Girls, my name is Xavier Black. You may call me Mr. Black, Master, or Sir. You all belong to me now and you will do whatever I tell you to.”

We head for the tree line and shift then take off. My beast is Max, he is mostly black other than the tips of his ears and tail are a light shade of gray. Chester, Chris' beast is a blonde with white socks on all four paws. Nate's beast Merlin, is a light gray and all four paws and the tip of his tair are white. We run and play tackle eatch other for a while. After a few hours, we get back to the pack house just in time for breakfast.

Dylan looked at him and Pearl could see the wheels turning. "Beauty and the Beast" Dylan said. Rhys smiled. "Pearl is the Beauty type character. One is you is the beast. The rest are hunters, like one, a Van Helsing character and others, we can figure that out. And she has not until a last rose petal falls, to kiss him, but a tree, shedding its last leaf." Rhys said. It was brilliant. They all loved it. Rhys looked at Ian on the screen. "You. You would be the beast." Ian laughed. "Of course I'm the beast!"

I raised my hand slightly and motioned for John and the other royal warriors to inspect it. “Your highness, it's the spy we sent. She's back!” John muttered as he checked the carriage. “What do you have here….Back so soon… Jane!” I walked toward the horse. It stood still as I approached. It was a rare breed, unlike ours—this black stallion was three times bigger, more muscular, and it had a savage look in its eyes. But it made no sound, almost like it's following a strict order. It looked like a machine made to kill but I would easily end it's life with my ring.

And at the far end, on a raised platform, sat a throne of black iron. And on that throne sits a tall, muscular man, The Lycan King. Kieran Blackthorn. The Beast King. I forgot to breathe. He is not what I expected. The stories painted him as a monster, something barely human. But the man before me was nothing like an animal. He was young, perhaps only a few years older than I am. He is devastatingly beautiful in the way dangerous things are beautiful, sharp and perfect and absolutely terrifying.

We all gasped and my four spirits looked at me and the beast in surprise. The beast and I stared at each other, and I couldn’t believe what my eyes perceived. The beast definitely looks like me, the only difference between us is the color of our eyes and hair. She had black eyes, but it’s void of emotion---like you can see your painful death if you stare in it longer. Her long black straight hair that reaches her feet looks like it has its own life as it swayed on its own even if there’s no strong wind.

He held the reins with one hand and touched the horse's head and body with the other. The wild black horse had suddenly become docile and tame in RK's hands! It didn't move at all. It was very obedient! Stella, who was watching from the side, felt embarrassed... A master with a temper! A horse with a temper! It was so true! That black horse had the same character as its master. It was arrogant! Ordinary people couldn't tame them. "Uhh.." Stella looked awkwardly at the man beside her and asked, "Why did you come back so suddenly? You didn't say anything..."

"The black one, flappy and smooth." Dark jerked his black head up to Pearl. His snout was clenched tightly closed, and she had to force herself to turn away from his oddly scowling look. Damn, they behave like normal people, she thought.
